Summary: I was devastated when Logitech came out with this thing and they forced you to use a Windows or Mac based music server designed by the Logitech Techo Thugs, not the beloved Linux and NAS based servers I have been using for over 10 years since back in the days of Slimserver. I refused to buy one. Well, public outcry was so great, and to Logitech's credit, they caved and included support for Squeezebox server.
Summary: I researched extensively before purchase. Having had friends that have the Squeezebox, but too cheap to make the heavy investment, I was pleasantly surprised by the introduction of the Smart Radio. Admittedly I have no personal knowledge of the features of the Squeezebox but upon review of previous reviews I decided to purchase this unit for myself. (I had purchased a 'tuner'--the Grace GDI-IRA500: reviewed previously--for my wife's shop, and loving it.
Summary: Purchased this so my mom could access internet radio (especially Pandora) without having a smart phone. Very user friendly for non-tech savy older adults and the portability is great. All you need to make it work is wireless internet.
Summary: I bought two for my house and business in the Yucatan. They work wonderfully well with the wifi signal. They also serve as very good speakers when hooked up to a laptop to watch movies. The sound is extraordinarily good.
Summary: We were looking for something to put in the kitchen. Since we don't have a space for TV, we decided to get a radio. It has radio stations from all over the world. It's fantastic. Worth every penny.
Summary: Bought this for my wife who likes to listen to conventional radio. She is very happy with this, and it's now sitting prominently on our kitchen counter. Easy to set up and use, unobtrusive and nicely designed. Believe it or not the main thing she likes is the large "tuning" knob. It works just like a conventional radio, except of course you're selecting URLs (etc) versus tuning to an electrical signal (frequency). Much preferred over the "<" and ">" type push-buttons.
Summary: We live in an area that, after sunset, AM radio reception virtually disappears. So, my main motivation was to be able to listen to a couple of local stations that I could not hear, unless I grabbed my laptop. The menus, knobs and functions are simple and selected programs / stations start almost instantly. The menus make it easy to set up local stations, and to set up other stations and programs from all over the country (maybe the world....I have not looked).
Much better than using your tablet as an impromptu audio system

Summary: I bought this since I wasn't satisfied with the generally poor sound quality given from tablet speakers (I own different Android tablets and an iPad 3). While roaming from room to room and playing music, this is definitely a better solution! You can use common services like Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, BBC, Digitally Imported, etc.
Summary: Easy to setup and sounds fantastic. Integrates well with Spotify and other music services. Able to run it on internal battery which makes it so much more portable, great to take outside when doing chores....
Summary: We have two of these, and both hubby and I LOVE them!! I love listening to the BBC and used to do it on my laptop, but this is so much easier - it's #1 on my presets, so one push of a little button and it connects me to my favourite radio station!! The built-in battery is a major plus as you can just take these lil babies around the house with you - or on the deck, as we frequently do in the Summer!!
