Summary: I found my G2 at Fry's on sale for $40 so I'm not griping about it too much. Its tiny speakers are tinny but I use mine with a Microlab MD220 extension speaker and it sounds great. The Shortwave is useful and fun to record from. I bought a 16gb micro SD card and loaded it with MP3s and WMAs....It plays great except it will not play MP3s recorded at 320k (instructions say it will), which is most of my collection...bummer.
likely my sort of ugly older TECSUN PL-380 multi-band a superior device.

Summary: Eccentric to use, especially plus & minus station change buttons. Confess have not really tried to use shortwave features... Overall, likely my sort of ugly older TECSUN PL-380 multi-band a superior device...
Summary: Everything works well. Tuner is excellent on FM and RDS works, but tries to categorize the station so it ends up with a smaller display. I got an extra battery here for about $5 and a separate charger for about the same. It seems that sleep mode drains the battery. I have to check this again. It runs a good 10 hours on a charge using RDS and at moderate volume. I stick it back in the case sometimes or throw a towel over it to give the sound more depth.
Summary: Pretty awesome for me. It has many features that I don't use but the ones I use work to my satisfaction. The alarm clock (you can program multiple alarms) is loud and repeats many times when you set it as such. I have a deep sleep and I can trust this to wake me up. I love the radio program recording option. I carry it in my car and I set it to record a program in case miss something while I'm paying attention to driving.
