Summary: This little radio works very well for listening to AM/FM channels but did not have any luck with it trying to pick up shortwave broadcasts. Reception is excellent with this radio and I have only had to extend the antenna on several occasions. Have been using this radio everyday 3-4 hours per day for the last 4 years. After about 2 years the little flap in the back that is used to prop the radio up broke but does not affect the operation of the radio on bit.
Summary: It's a bit complicated and I have misplaced the manual, but it is a handy tool for an international traveler. I do wish the attachments were a bit smaller as space is critical when I travel so sometimes hard to fit everything in my suitcase.
This is a tough little radio with pretty good reception…
1 September 2013
Summary: This is a tough little radio with pretty good reception for its size (3" x just under 5"). It has a great feature set with the ability to pick up Air (Aviation) Band (from 117 to 137MHz), Short Wave (2000 KHz to 29999KHz), FM stations, AM Stations, LW Stations, as well as the ability to tune in SSB and listen to some HAM Operators.
Summary: I was really excited to try this little radio but have been more and more disappointed with it. To begin with I purchased an external antenna as well because I knew for shortwave that's a must. Reception was OK at best and even on local FM channels I'd get static. The air band was no good at all. Only when a plan was directly overhead would I get static. I get better receeption off an old transistor FM radio that I modified to pickup chatter from CVG.
Summary: I use this radio every night as it rests on my nightstand next to my bed. I really don't use its shortwave capabilities very much, but when I have, it didl pick up some interesting sounds such as maritime morse codes and other like communications.
ETON G6 Aviator Buzz Aldrin Edition AM/FM, Aircraft band and Shortwave Radio
25 February 2013
Summary: E TON G6 Aviator Buzz Aldrin Edition AM/FM, Aircraft band and Shortwave Radio, is not new; it was used. No box, earbuds, on AC power adapter, no protective pouch; no paperwork, or manual. Said to be refurbished, might have been cleaned up; but not refurbished. First thing i found was old batteries had leaked, had to take it apart to get to the contacts; i had to clean the contacts and check for corrosion.
Summary: This is a neat little radio that I use to listen to the air traffic. I live close to an airport and can watch and listen to the communications. The antenna has to be pulled all the way out. Reception from the aircraft will depend on how far out they are and your antenna. There is a jack for an external antenna. It has great sound quality on FM for a little radio and even better with headphones.
Summary: Just an amazing radio for its size. MW performance is far better than I would have expected due to the constraints placed on the size of the LW/MW ferrite rod. It's been a long time since I did much MW DXing but I gave it a shot one night when conditions were good and the little radio managed to hear everything my other larger portables did. FM performance is surprisingly good, with the G6 holding its own against its much bigger brother the Grundig Satellit 750!
