Summary: I am very happy with the radio, but the remote never worked and Amazon expected me to return the whole thing to get the remote replaced. No can do! My wife "needs" the radio. It was my Christmas gift to her. I threw the old one out. If I have to send this one back and there is no substitute radio, I'm in trouble. . . big trouble. Please just let me return the remote and give me another one.
Summary: I got two of these on special for $30 each. The sound is remarkably full for a small table radio. There is a bass reflex port in the back of the radio. The FM radio is sensitive enough to pick up most stations without noise -- even those classical stations which always seem to be of marginal strength in most radios. However, the selectivity and image rejection is terrible.
Summary: The Eton 100 has wonderful sound quality, great FM tuning, and lots of nice features, including a remote and the ability to interact remotely with an ipod. The problem is that this CLOCK/RADIO fails one task - the clock. The blue on blue display is completely illegible unless you are directly in front of it, and no more than 8 ft away. With the clock across the room, perhaps 10ft away, the only thing visible was a blue glow making it useless as a clock.
Summary: After many weeks of research I decided to buy the Eton Sound 100. Especially when the blue model came available at a big discount. The first day of use was exciting because the sound quality this unit produced was far superior to any bedside radio I previously used. But soon the quirks (bugs) became obvious. Here is my list of reasons for returning this item and opting instead for the Sangean RCR-22 (which has not yet arrived but I am hopeful) 1.
For iPod Dock Features, Eton's Sound 100 iPod Is Worth A Look
Mark "Technology, Music and Movies", Amazon

Summary: The Sound 100 iPod Dock comes in black and white. The radio only version adds other colors including silver, blue and red. I've had the white one for a while and I've been pretty happy with it. This Black Etón Sound 100 iPod Dock is very similar, but loses points for the non-black speaker face. As a stand-alone radio this device is average. But the stellar iPod dock integration makes this unit a cut above and one you must consider.
Summary: Pros: - Warm easy-listening sound, perfect for speech - Good FM performance with RDS - Compact, internal AM antenna (option to switch to external AM antenna if you have one) - iPod integration Cons: - Mono speaker - Sound lacks clarity - Bright LCD backlight cannot be turned down/off - Turning off the unit does not turn off iPod - Big power brick - Cost
Good radio with iPod dock, not very good clock radio

Summary: The sound quality is what I was looking for, with a radio and iPod dock. I like the remote, nice and lightweight and doesn't hit the floor very hard when it falls off the bed. Where this gadget falls short is on the clock radio features. I can't hardly read the clock from even a short distance away. If I take my glasses off, which I often do when I sleep, I literally have to stick my face within about 3 inches of the clock to read it.
Great iPod Dock - Eton's Sound 100 iPod is worth a look
10 August 2009
Summary: The Sound 100 iPod Dock is the latest in Eton's product family. As a stand-alone radio this device is average. With the iPod dock this unit is a cut above and one you must consider. They do sell this device without the iPod dock, and it ranges from being $30 to $50 less than this model. I don't believe it's worth getting this unit without the iPod dock.
Summary: I purchased this item on a whim as I needed a radio in the bathroom. The sound quality is great if you love a lot of bass. Sometimes with the exhaust fan on (or other noise in the room)the bass is all you hear so keep that in mind. The good: In a quiet room the sound quality is great. The remote is simple & functions very well. Setting the alarm & time is an easy process. The bad: Turn off the sun! The stupid digital display is so bright it makes roosters crow.
Summary: The audio quality and reception are very good, and are certainly a big improvement over the standard clock radio that it replaced for me, but the blue beacon light coming from the display is TRULY ANNOYING, and I'm not sure I would have bought it if I had realized how aweful the light would be in the nighttime bedroom. I have to cover it with an envelope to survive it. Eton SHOULD do something about the display.
