Summary: This radio is just ok, which is pretty consistent with the reviews it had received. I bought it because it is so hard to find simple radios with digital tuners, and I wanted to give this one a try despite the mediocre reviews. If you don't care too much about sound quality, this is fine, but if you care about sound quality, check out the Sangean K-200 which I also bought and which is great. The Sangean is more expensive, but it is worth it.
Summary: Wanted a radio that was simple, and easy to transport. Needed one for garage so he can check ball scores and the weather. Wanted battery backup in case of outages. This fit the bill great. Thank you. Would recommend to anyone.
Summary: The reception at work ranges from bad to poor. I was sick and tired of constantly retuning my older rotary tuner portable radio. The static drove me nuts. This inexpensive radio took just a minute to plug in and set up with my favorite classical FM radio station. Clear signal. No static. I am a happy camper. Oh, and did I say that Amazon delivered it in one day? Well done.
Summary: The sound quality is surprisingly good for an inexpensive radio. I don't get good reception everywhere in my apartment, but I get great reception in the room the radio was intended for. I don't think you can go wrong with this item.
Summary: I was hoping for better. I've had pretty good luck with Coby products before including a DVD player that I've used for years. The main problem with the radio is a lack of selectivity-stations bleed on top of one another. Also, the radio has poor filtering allowing extraneous noise to come through. If the station is strong neither of these flaws is a problem. The tuning mechanism works great, and the sound quality (of strong stations) is fine.
