Summary: For the purpose intended this is a useless box for me. I went to the discount store & purchased another device instead which does work nicely. I also noticed while I was there they had this box for $25 less than I paid Newegg.
Pros: The concept of this product is good. Nice picture, portable and all that.... Don't even mind the power switch issue others have described. Picture quality initially was not so great, but after awhile with some "tweaking" it shaped up nicely.
Cons: Sound system? What sound system? What's the point in offering a top line machine with a tin-can sound system? Yup, you could add external speakers, but technology should suggest it's possible to get decent sound from the top-end device in it's class. BEWARE of the combo-special. Stupid me, I thou...
Summary: What separates this from a 5/5+. A quality product and the service to back it up. Two in row with problems is pretty rare, but the service I received from Toshiba was so below par that it will be a long time before I buy another one again.
Pros: Overall design is well except the on/off switch. Other controls very convient when using. Remote control is a good size also. Picture is crisp and clear and makes for excellent viewing, especially when travelling as the battery life was good.
Cons: Unfortunatelly, there is another side to this. After 2 weeks, my power adapter died completely. I worked with the remote support team, who in my opinion should not even be in business. After several emails convincing them it was the power adapter, I was finally told to call in to the help line wh...
Summary: The picture is clear but the sound is terrible. I had to buy a small external speaker to go with the product. The remote control leaves a lot to be desired too. It has to be pointed directly at the right hand corner of the DVD player. The play button seems to be located in an unhandy position too.
Summary: Just so you know, this thing only lasted 12 months before the rechargable battery stopped recharging. The unit still works if plugged into an electric outlet or car adapter, but the battery won't hold a charge.
A bit big but pretty good before it stopped working

Summary: We bought this since an earlier Toshiba DVD players had worked great and with more kids we decided to get a second. Well the original older model is still goign strong - this stopped working after about 2 years of relativley light use. Should have gone with Consumer reports recco.
Summary: First, the good points; when I bought this player, I was very happy with it (although the buttons which looked like they were back lit when on, turned out not to be, so at night I frequently press the wrong button).
Summary: This player comes with a remote, which is nice, but the remote doesn't do 2 very important tasks. You can't turn the machine on or off from the remote, nor can you adjust the volume from the remote. Why, Toshiba, why? Also, this player performs very poorly after extended play times. i.e.
Summary: I waited and waited for this player to become available on Amazon, but then on a trip to see competing models at a local Best Buy, there it was. I bought it--and returned it two days later. The image quality wasn't bad, but it didn't seem great, and the thing is *incredibly* heavy and thick.
