Summary: THIS was Toshiba's ultimate portable DVD player. It came out at the peak of Toshiba's DVD development, when they came out with 192mhz audio (perfect to 88,000hz, which covers violin harmonics and piccolo - Sony's best on DVD is 44,000hz and CD's are all 22,500 hz limitation, which means sound with...
Summary: Like the previous reviewer, I also purchased this product used. It was an impulse buy at a local thrift shop. It worked, it was a great deal, so I bought it. Anyway, it has turned out to be a fantastic DVD player.
Summary: Unfortunately the one we received doesn't work well...it takes forever to get it started...once started it's OK. Normally i've been extremely pleased with Overstock...this is the first item I've had a problem with.
Summary: I am usually hesitant to purchase "refurbished" items, but this DVD player was a good buy, and a good experience for the most part. The only negatives are: 1. A bit dated: Manufactured in 9/2003. 2. Top cover is a bit bumpy and pitted. 3. Missing battery for remote, needs coin-sized batt.
Summary: The battery on this refurbished model does NOT fully charged. Would've been nice if Overstock replaced the unit with a new battery!! Picture quality is NOT is good as I expected!!!!! Should've known better than to buy a refurbished product!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
Summary: Purchased this item and a DVD as Christmas presents to my son. This item was so scratched & dinged up, I was embarrassed. Granted it was refurbished, it should be labeled "USED". Charged up the battery fully and kept getting a message that battery wasn't installed when it was.
Summary: I am happy overall with the DVD player, however I was surprised to see little cosmetic flaws throughout. I was under the impression that it would look like a brand new player, not look like a returned item or used item. But for the price, it is still a good deal.
Summary: The sound is absolutely phenomonial as well as the picture. I have owned a Panasonic DVD-LA95 and DVD-L50 and they are not even compariable to the SD-P2500. My friend has a Samsung L200 and it is not even on the same level even though the L200 has a bigger screen.
Summary: I travel a lot, and since I bought SD-P2500 I cannot imagine travelling without it. While I never owned a competing model, I've looked at them, researched them and this is the one to get. 8.9'' screen is just the right size -- probably the biggest you can have and still call it portable.
