Awesome DVD player

SweetbabyJsus, Amazon
3 August 2004
  • Summary: After researching portable dvd players extensively, I finally bought these and I can't complain ONE bit. I was deciding between the Sonys, Panasonics and Toshibas and while they are all very similiar in picture quality I felt Toshiba was the best for features, reviews and price.

Ditto, this is the one to have.

D. Chapman ""Life is too short to be taken seriously." Oscar Wilde", Amazon
12 July 2003
  • Summary: Prior to our purchase of the SD-P2000 I did quite a bit of study on the other units available and decided on the Toshiba for various techno-features, top of the list being the quality of the screen. I could carry on with techno-babble but we'll leave that for others.

Great Picture. Poor Sound

Amazon
5 July 2003
  • Summary: I bought this player for long trips in the car. Player has a great picture and plenty of features. The only drawback is you almost have to use headphones unless you are in an extremely quiet room. Ive noticed other portable dvd players have the same problem so I don't think its that big of a deal.

Stunning Performance.

James K. Joyce, Jr., Amazon
25 June 2003
  • Summary: This player is amazing--the 16/9 ratio 8.9" screen produces a stunning and very film-like image. With its progressive scanning and 614,400 pixels, it can display anamorphic widescreen DVDs in their full resolution, like watching them on an HD-ready TV.

Toshiba SDP2000

Amazon
25 May 2003
  • Summary: We're extermely happy with our purchase of the Toshiba sdp2000 portable dvd. If you plan on using this player in your car, make sure you purchase a "suspension theater" carrying case to hang the player between the seats. For long trips (longer than the battery life), buy a power inverter.

A Real Stunner - with one tiny glitch...

griffinmill "griffinmill", Amazon
11 May 2003
  • Summary: First things first: This player's playback is unparalleled, with progressive scan and with its easily accessed tweaks for aspect ratio and a host of viewer preferences. Our SD-P2000 replaced a Sharp player which still functions reliably but which lacks the circuitry needed to produce an HD-like...

Excellent Player

Amazon
26 April 2003
  • Summary: For those complaints on sound quality, I have one thing to say "AIWA Noise Canceling Headphones HP-CN6" will solve your problem. After reading some reviews, I was concerned on the sound quality, but if you have good headphones, the sound is excellent. The overall picture quality is unbelievable.

Great for long flights

Kim Marie M. Drab, Amazon
10 April 2003
  • Summary: I originally bought this unit for long flights. Along with AIWA Noise Cancelling headphones, it's perfect! Even sitting right next to the wing, with the overhead television playing, I could hear my movie very cleary.

Very Pleased So Far

Amazon
5 March 2003
  • Summary: Very impressed! even my techno snob friend, was very impressed with the sound ( via headphones )and picture quality. I considered spending a bit more for a laptop with DVD, however this dedicated unit is so much less hassle free to operate.
