    The DVD player worked for two days. After that discs would not load or play. I sent it back for repair and have not received it back yet. I will write more once it is returned to me. So IU sent the item back for the warranty and they returned it to me about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks later. HAven't had any problems since. Volume on this is really loud so everyone can hear it good. I had to pay $11.00 to ship back to seller though. Other than that I have no complaints. Read more

    In using this product to review multiformats such as DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD+R/W, DVD-Audio, CD, CD-R/W, WMA, MP3, frequent freezing is a problem on anything but DVD video. If you need a machine to be very reliable with home burned DVD, you will find this one lacking. The Picture is beautiful and the whole package has a feel of quality. The case is sleek and the sturdy and the dvd door feels more substantial than most, however, the operating of this machine is lacking. Read more

    Hi! Firstly, I'm so technologically-challenged that I just about need written instructions to open a pair of sunglasses, so this DVD player was a welcome surprise! To use; slide in(on?) the battery pack, plug in, charge (minimum 5 hours), unplug, turn on, open disc compartment, put in disc, plug in headphones. THAT IS IT!! The first movie I played, I pushed the 'Play' button; the second, I took a moment & it started by itself! Whee! Read more

    There are many portable DVD players on the market but this compact little device from Toshiba takes a lot of beating. Compared to the competition its not the cheapest on the market but it is one of the best. Its 9" screen may look small but it is of great quality & handles all movies I have watched on it without any compromises. The top mounted DVD lid is hinged from the rear making loading & unloading discs very easy. Read more

The Toshiba SDP1900 is a portable DVD player that features a nine inch diagonal widescreen with a TFT crystal display. This DVD player features 480 x234 pixel resolution making it a fantastic choice for viewing three main types of DVDs, the letterbox, standard and the anamorphic. The black top is manufactured with acrylic and has an easy to use control panel with oversized buttons.

Since the early 1900’s Toshiba has focused on quality and this is evident in the compact design and the Home Theatre features which allow AVI, DivX and MPEG4 compressed files to be accessed from the internet and downloaded to a personal computer or stored on a CD-R/RW.

One other neat feature is the audio video input and output that allows the Toshiba SDP 1900 to be connected to an external television or monitor or to be used as a display device for a camcorder or digital camera.

The Toshiba SDP1900 will work with the following types of media: CD audio; CD-DA ; CD-R ; CD-RW ; SVCD; Video CD ; DivX version 6 ; DVD-R ; DVD-RW ; DVD Video ; DVD+R; DVD+RW; JPEG Viewer; and MP3.

Power is provided by a lithium ion battery that is rechargeable and lasts up to five hours; or by an external power adaptor. Toshiba SDP 1900 includes a remote control which uses infrared technology, A/V cables and an adaptor for use in the automobile. The dimensions are 9.4 inches by 6.7inches by1.3inches. The languages that are supported are English; French; Spanish; German and Polish.

One nice feature that consumers liked was the Toshiba SDP1900’s improved surround sound and ease of operation of the portable DVD. ]

The sound is Dolby DTS and the optical output is audio D/A 192 kHZ/24bit and this DVD player has two headphone jacks. There are several different types of accessories that can be obtained to make this portable DVD player more useful such as the audio cassette adaptor and several iPod adaptors.
