Toshiba sent me a portable DVD player model SD-P1400 to replace another Toshiba DVD player that failed within the 1 year warranty period. I have hardly used the new one and now it's screen has gone black. It plays sound but has no picture. I am terribly frustrated with Toshiba's DVD players. Read more

I was excited to get a brand name DVD player at such a reasonable price (275). I have several other Toshiba products in my household and they work flawlesly. Not the case for this DVD player. It worked fairly well for the first year with MINIMAL useage, but in the second year it started to fail / would not play discs that worked fine in every other player in the house. Also, the dual headphone inputs and the capable remote are a plus. The only thing that I think needs some work about this player is the battery life. When I first bought it I was only able to watch about one movie per full battery charge. About 6 months later, it was time for me to replace the battery all together. My... Read more

This is my fourth portable DVD player. The first was an RCA that only lasted 1 day, the second was an Audiovox that lasted about a month, the third was a Mintek (which I still have after 2 years and just gave to a friend), now I have this one...and i must say, this Toshiba portable is the best I have had so far. The credit-card sized remote is nice and small and is full-functioned. However, you can access all the settings from the unit itself, which most other brands can... Read more
