We've tested some lovely portable DVD players this year, such as the LG DP391B and the Toshiba SD-P73S , but the DVP-FX930 is a pretty straight-laced affair. It uses a traditional flip-top design and an all-over black finish devoid of eye-catching flourishes, but it's not completely without charm - the slim screen swivels 180 degrees and folds back onto the base, turning it into a hand-held tablet, plus it's robustly built and compact even with the battery pack clipped... I received the DVD player as a gift and I have only used it two times. I still need the directions in front of me -- the menu button is not that obvious but I have been able to figure it out. The sound is good. I havent used the rechargable battery yet but will be flying this weekend so I may find out how long it really lasts. So far I like it. I like the idea of being able to hook it up to a regular TV screen so I can use it to play DVDs where there is no DVD player. Read more or see product

Replaced a portable DVD player and so far it's working well. My toshiba did as well so my real rating will have to be when I have it longer. A much clearer picture than my older Toshiba. I don't like the buttons below the screen. Can't see them in the dark and often push ones I don't mean to as they aren't really buttons. Read more or see product

After reading so many positive feedbacks, I was happy to get my DVD player. It could not play the first 2 DVDs. Then, I found out this Sony product does not support Bluray technology which is introduced by Sony. Surprise. Apart from that, good product. Read more
