Excerpt: My sister has one of these and she let mew borrow it for a while because me and my husband were on our trip. And the kids sometimes needs something to watch like cartoons and stuff for them to stay put. Especially just this last christmas, I had to ask my sister to lend me this for a week because we were on a long trip to my mother-in-law’s house. My daughter immediately brought her sesame street, Dora the explorer and Barney DVD.
Excerpt: I always carry this Sony portable DVD player everywhere I go. It is so cool to have this portable device readily available everytime I feel like watching a movie somewhere. Wherever I go, I can assure that I can watch my favorite movie even though there’s no ac inlet within reach because the battery life really lasts longer. It can stand more than 5 hours with a fully charged battery.
Excerpt: I really like this Sony DVD player . It’s perfect for taking on trips, because it’s lightweight and easy to transport. I like that it plays more than DVD’s, too: it also plays CD’s and MP3’s, so it’s also a portable music player . It even plays a slideshow of JPG images, so you can use it as a portable electronic picture frame. I was very impressed with the wide variety of features on this sleek little player .
Summary: Bought this DVD player about a year ago after one died that we had for 6 years. This one worked fine until it recently died on me. There are some problems with the design though, the line in switch easily gets hit and switched. When this happens it won't power on. Hard for my 7 year old to figure this out. The screen looked good for about 6 months, then is showed wear and tear, it seemed to rub on the inside and left a permanent mark on the screen.
Excerpt: I have gotten quite a bit of use out of this portable DVD player. I feel safe taking it anywhere and everywhere because it is a very durable player that can withstand some bumps and minor drops if they should take me by surprise - and it does happen sometimes! The eight-inch screen might not sound like a very big one, but it is a surprisingly good size and when I watch my DVDs on here I do not feel like I am missing anything or experiencing an inferior movie experience.
Summary: I purchased this initially to entertain my two little ones last Thanksgiving for a very long and harsh road trip to grandma's house. It has exceeded my expectations as SONY normally delivers. This DVD player has been used nearly on a daily basis for at least 2 hours a day and is going strong. The battery life is great!
Summary: BOUGHT THIS FOR MY GRANDSON, AFTER TRYING SEVERAL OTHERS. NO COMPARISON. THIS DVD HAS GREAT SOUND AND A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE. I HELD BACK ON MY REVIEW BECAUSE THE OTHERS TOOK A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THEY QUIT PLAYING ,OR FELL APART. HAD THIS ONE A YEAR NOW. NO PROBLEMS, COMPLETELY SATISFIED.USED IN CAR FOR TRIPS. WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD FOR KEEPING MY GRANDSON ENTERTAINED.
Summary: The Sony DVP-FX820 8-inch Portable DVD Player is wonderful!! Because my home was flooded, I have been living in a hotel for the past 3+ months. The hotel is very upscale but the telly is terrible--and the stations they offer are even worse!! Between my generous family donating CD's and Netflex, I'm able to avail myself of a movie or sit-com when I want. (Oh yes!! I read--I have a Kindle that I love!
