Summary: I have been using this machine for a couple of years now and am very satisfied with it. It is attractive and neat, though quite heavy to carry. My main use is to play French films (using headphones) that my partner doesn't care for and it is amazing how quickly one adjusts to the smaller screen. The quality of the picture is excellent and the controls easy to use. I can imagine it having all kinds of functions in a family environment.
Not a bad system if you can get over its minor flaws.

Excerpt: Going on holiday a few times a day I decided to pick up this Sony Portable for a bit of fun on the plane. Managing to get it for under £100 I was pretty happy. The battery was said to be good and with the spec stating 5 hours that was enough to get me to my destination on the plane. You can always buy a spare battery and carry that about with you if 5 hours is enough for you. They are thin enough not to take up a lot of space.
Summary: Very good all rounder. Many DVD players look good when the image is static. However when the image pans from side to side the background, especially if it is a complex image, can stutter and this is down to the quality of the imaging software and hardware. The Sony shows no noticeable effects and is always smooth with good resolution and colour. The battery is also very good indeed. Sony is synonymous with quality and this what you get.
Summary: This product only accepted certain DVD's. Non of the DVD's we tried with the machine were copies, and yet the machine refused to acknowledge them. This was a shame, as we did not try all the DVD's which we were taking before we left for our holiday, and realised to late that their was only 2 or 3 of the 10 that we could watch... Very disappointing.
Summary: This is a good looking DVD player that we bought for our 8 year old son for car journeys. I don't think the battery ever lasted the 5 hours but there is a car charger and home plug charger so this has never been as issue for us. It does last a good few hours. One downside is the sound quality, most of the time we have to have the sound quality turned upto the highest level. Finally no straps ect for attaching to seats of car.
Excerpt: I found this dvd player very easy and versatile to use. It is very easy to turn on and allows the user to easily choose which av format is required. It is sleek and stylish and will look good in any h9ome rangine from medium to small. Its durable and the remote control operation is very simple. The instructions are a little on the complex side but even the most elderly owner will be able to grasp what they are aiming at.
Summary: Unfortunately we only had this DVD player for a month before it died on us! However, when it was working we loved it. Pros: fantastic battery life, great screen quality, removable battery for when you just want to run it off mains/car power, good volume Cons: we had lots of techinical problems with this DVD player, it would play some DVDs well, but with most it would freeze or simply refuse to play them. It would not play home movies (on DVD-R) at all.
