Summary: Love my Sony portable Blu-ray player along with the sturdy Logic case I purchased at the same time. Sony has always been a quality brand in my opinion. I bought this item to replace another portable Sony disc player which I owned for many years but it didn't play Blu-ray. I highly recommend this product.
Summary: I received this unit recently. It seemed to play ok initially, good picture controls etc. When I used the earphones they did not operate properly. I would get a soundtrack or voice track or nothing. When I contacted Sony about the issue they asked how long the symptom had been present. I informed them since I had the unit. The unit was mailed in at an insured cost of $18. I was then told the 90 warranty had expired by one day. They charged me $125.64 to repair.
Summary: I needed to replace the AC adapter on my Bluray player and called Sony, they said the replacement cost for the AC adapter is $89!! Wow, I didn't expect the AC adapter to be almost half of the total cost to purchase a new one - Ripoff. Very disappointed in Sony and will avoid their products in the future for fear of having to buy their overpriced accessories.
Summary: This portable blu-ray player is amazing! I couldn't get over the picture quality. This blu ray player is easy to carry around. I watched old animated Disney movies on it & they looked amazing! My only complaint is that the buttons don't light up at night but I love everything else about this blu ray player.
Summary: I bought this portable Blu-ray DVD player because of the Blu-ray capability (to replace my other one that was not Blu-ray). I love both players, and this new one works great. I took off one star because of the short AC cord (the electric plug). It's only 38 inches long, so you aren't going to use this player unless you (1) charge it ahead of time and run it off the battery, (2) have an outlet very close to you, or (3) use the included 12v cord.
Summary: I can not imagine what the designers of this player were thinking! How worthless is a player with HDMI output on a unit that CAN NOT turn off its' own monitor when attached to a large screen TV? The battery is not accessible, so you can not use a spare. And surprise, the battery that promises 4 hours is lucky to get 2 hours - even with the monitors settings for brightness, back light, and contrast turned down as low as possible and still produce a viewable picture.
Summary: I have had this player for at least 6 months now and it has worked pretty well. There are occasional issues with it like once I plugged in headphones but the speakers on the unit kept making a horrible electronic sound. There is also a lighter fram around the edges of the viewing area but it has not interfered with watching anything. I get about 1.75 blu-ray videos out of the battery while traveling. Compared to the other options out there, this is pretty good.
