Nice DVD Player but the car mount is horrible

James Morrissey, Amazon
26 June 2010
  • Summary: Nice looking DVD player with large 10inch screen. We purchased this unit because it was the biggest screen available and it comes with a car mount kit. The first trip we took we found that the included car mount kit does not work.

Great Player for Lots of Different Media and Usage Options

Amazon Customer "Just a Geek Gone Wild", Amazon
1 August 2009
  • Summary: This is my second Phillips Portable DVD Player I have purchased. The last one had a built-in dock for an ipod. I use this player all the time but mainly while traveling (Camping, Car Trips Etc.) . I'm a media heavy person so any player I use is going to be tested to it's limits.

Great DVD player

Paul H. Timmerman, Amazon
10 March 2009
  • Summary: The DVD player is great. The screen is big and the controls are easy to use. The only complaint I have is that the seat mount is a bit flimsy and wobbles during driving a bit.

Portable DVD player

Julie R. Winters, Amazon
18 January 2009
  • Summary: DVD has great picture/sound. Do not like the remote - cannot turn the unit on with the remote. The car mount kit sucks. It is cheap and does not hold the DVD player when the vehicle moves. Everytime you make a turn, it falls.

TV alternative

Joey S., Newegg
29 November 2008
  • Summary: I've had my player for a little more than a year now, and I use it constantly. Other than the memory slot not ejecting cards, everything else performs just as well as it did when I first got it. There has not even been any noticeable drop in battery life. I watch my player about 20 hour a week.
  • Pros: This unit will play almost anything. DVDs, CDs, memory cards and flash drives. It also recognizes most formats. I use it to catch up on my favorite shows (I work nights) while playing on the computer and take it anywhere with me.
  • Cons: I have to agree with the cons of other reviewers. The controls on screen cannot be seen in the dark, there's no was to bookmark anything other than a retail DVD, no time/length or battery life indicator, and the memory card slot only auto eject only worked for about a month as it is directly over...

  • Summary: This unit came in handy when we used it on a road trip for our 2 year old daughter. It kept her occupied the whole trip. The car kit was very easy to set-up. Mounting and removal of the unit from the car kit was a breeze.
