Summary: Nice looking DVD player with large 10inch screen. We purchased this unit because it was the biggest screen available and it comes with a car mount kit. The first trip we took we found that the included car mount kit does not work. it has a long plastic arm that extends from the head rest and has an adjustable viewing angle. The problem is the first bump you hit the viewing angle arm will fall down and it's next to impossible to fix without pulling over.
Summary: I owned about 3 portable DVD Players Before, and none of then get close to this one. I really like the picture quality, the USB Port, SD Card slot, and the screen size. I recomended to anyone to own one.

Summary: This is my second Phillips Portable DVD Player I have purchased. The last one had a built-in dock for an ipod. I use this player all the time but mainly while traveling (Camping, Car Trips Etc.) . I'm a media heavy person so any player I use is going to be tested to it's limits. First a little about the physical aspects of the player. A solid device, It has been dropped several times and is no worse for the wear.
Summary: DVD has great picture/sound. Do not like the remote - cannot turn the unit on with the remote. The car mount kit sucks. It is cheap and does not hold the DVD player when the vehicle moves. Everytime you make a turn, it falls. If you purchase the DVD player, you will need a case to mount it in the vehicle as the one that comes with it just does not work.
Summary: This unit came in handy when we used it on a road trip for our 2 year old daughter. It kept her occupied the whole trip. The car kit was very easy to set-up. Mounting and removal of the unit from the car kit was a breeze. The quality of the movies when viewed from the device is nice or even above par from what I've seen at Best Buy and Fry's Electronics. Overall I'm satisfied with this device.
Summary: After doing an extensive search for the best player according to my budget, I finally realized the Philips PET1030 player was the best choice. I have lots of DIVX videos with subtitles and it played them by the first time without problem. Subtitles are rendered over a blue transparent rectangle wich make them very visible. Battery lasts more than 2 hours using USB Flash memory as the video source.
Summary: I bought the Philips PET 1030 player in December 2007 to keep my son & wife occupied during a long days drive to Atlanta from New Jersey. The player was excellent and my son enjoyed all the movies he had got for the trip. There was never a power problem as one of the accessories is a car charger and he didn't use the seat support preferring to put the player on his knees.
Summary: Pros: Excellent picture quality, great user interface Cons: No hole for a security lock to prevent theft The Philips PET1030 is a great playback device for both video and images. You can use a variety of media video DVDs audio CDs USB memory sticks SD cards and even feed a signal from another source (e.g. digital camera) to it or connect a bigger monitor or projector when needed. The picture quality is excellent.
Summary: I received the PET 1030/37 as a Father's Day gift from my family and have used it for five days per week since then, while riding the bus to and from work (about 40 minutes ride each way). So, keep in mind that I am probably harder on a portable DVD player than most people. Overall, this has been a very good machine. It has a nice large screen, with very clear picture.
