Excerpt: We have always traveled with plenty of things for the kids to do, but toys always fall on the floor, crayons melt in the car, and stuffed animals stop being fun. So this year we bought this Philips portable DVD player for our trip to The Grand Canyon Railroad. The DVD player is pretty light weight. DVDs are easy to load. 7 inches does turn out to be plenty big enough. The max volume is sufficient.
Summary: Very good quality playback and the added versatility of being able to strap it to the back of a car seat makes this device a very good buy. If all you need (or want) is a small DVD player this is highly recommended. The games that are loaded on it are pretty lame and you have to figure out how to use the game controller, so don't buy it for that part.
Summary: Over all I love this item. I bought it to replace an old portable dvd player we had for our car. I had to rush to purchase it when taking a 12 hour road trip to Disney World. But I had already did extensive research on a new dvd just in case our old one died. The battery lasts around 2 and half hours.
Summary: This is a very handy and portable DVD player. We've had the opportunity to use it several times and we're so glad we have it. It works great and is very convenient. The screen is small, but the picture quality is fine. It's a light unit but feels of quality construction. The games and game controller are not very exciting, but when there isn't an Xbox or Wii around, this becomes much more interesting and keeps us busy and interested.
Summary: My daughter (3 yrs old) and I travel often (at least 2 10 hour drives per month, as well as many shorter 2-3 hour drives) and a DVD player is a necessity!! Recently the one we purchased 2 years ago (also Philips brand) finally died, so we went on a limb and purchased this one, enticed by the games. Let me tell you; this is the best idea EVER!! My daughter loved the games, my husband loved the games, my teenage sister got a kick out of the games.
