Summary: I have a similar model of this player, the Philips PD9012/37 9-Inch LCD Dual Screen Portable DVD Player, that no longer worked after 5 roadtrips giving me the famous "Bad Disc" error. You can see my review for that product. When I got the bad disc error I noticed that I'd open the player and find the disc spinning slowly, much slower than it should if the player were to actually play the disc.
Summary: This was never advertised as repackaged or refurbished and that is what it was. Model numbers were blacked out on back, totally frustrated at this. Worst part is one of the players worked for half a dvd and then wouldn't read disks anymore. This was the worst amazon purchase I have ever made!!!
Summary: We used these DVD players on a trip from UT to NV and again from UT to TX and by the time we reached TX they were no longer working. The one screen wouldn't register a dvd or that it was closed but it would show picture if we connected it to the other screen. Then a few months later when we went on a short trip the other screen stopped working as well. VERY frustrating to say the lease. For the price of these machines, they should last longer than 6 months.
Summary: I absolutely loved these units while they worked. The sound was great, the picture was great, they were easy to use, easy to install. Even though the units were only used occasionally for long trips, they stopped reading discs after about a year. One day I went to turn them on and it just kept saying "loading" and then eventually "bad disc". After searching google and a few phone calls to the manufacturer, this is apparently "normal".
Summary: I ordered this portable DVD player based on the review and the great price. Item received quickly and nicely packaged in it's original box. Works great. I have 3 kids ranging from age 11 to 1, so having the option to play 2 seperate movies is wonderful. Very pleased.
Summary: We bought this about a year ago now because my wife was looking for a good aftemarket type way to play videos for our 2 year old son while in the car out and about on errands. After reviewing most of the products available on amazon, we settled on this one because it seemed to have better reviews and features than other comparable portable DVD players.
Summary: If you're like me, you dread driving any length of time with children that are not quite old enough to read, but yet old enough to make your life a living he\\ on a long car ride. With this DVD player, dread no more. It is easy to set up, and easy enough to change the DVD while driving with a cigarette in one hand and Big Mac in the other.
Summary: I purchased this product for my girls (16, 11, 9, 7) because we spend a lot of time in the car between dance and gymnastics practices. The girls were THRILLED. Set up was simple. We had one on the middle row and one for the third row. From about the second week the third row one would cause trouble. It kept saying bad disc, even if the disc worked perfectly in the other player.
