Summary: Most reviews I see are done quickly after the product is bought. From happy moms who just installed the DVDs and rave about them, to the unlucky ones who have had a bad one that didn't work from the beginning. I purchased my Philips DVD players in June 2011. It worked great until about a month ago, when the most used player stop reading most discs, than all discs.
Summary: Great dvd player. I was hesitant at first to buy this one since I saw negative reviews from consumers but still I took the risk and bought the player. This is a great player mainly because you can play two different CD's at the same time. It is also sleek looking. I have one baby, so I basically do not need two DVD players. What I actually did was: I left one dvd player in the car for travelling purposes, and I kept the other dvd player in our house.
Summary: I am updating my review from earlier because I wrote my first review with only using it a few times. We took this product on a cross-country road trip with a baby and toddler. It skipped frequently and the way it is set up makes it very hard and annoying to change out movies (when you sit in the passenger seat). No matter how hard we tried to tuck the cords away the kids would get them wrapped around thier legs and they would get yanked out frequently.
Summary: I picked these up to have in my Jeep when I take my two bos on long trips. They are 5 and 2 right now so their TV watching is either completely different from one another or watching the exact same thing. I never know which direction they will go so I wanted dual players that can play the same movie or individual movies. These Phillips uints do both so it was win/win. My first time using them they worked great out of the box.
Summary: We have owned this system since June 2011. It has provided entertainment for our kids on our longer trips in the car. The playback feature (where it remembers where in the movie it last stopped) works intermittently. About a month ago, the laser started failing in both units--kept getting bad disc errors regardless of the DVD. I did an on-line chat with Philips technical support, and, after giving and e-mailing some information, they said they would send out new units.
Summary: We have only been using it about a month but so far so good. Very easy setup and easy to transfer between my car and my husband's. My 1 yr. old loves it and it keeps him occupied for our hour daily round trip. I wish it had a remote but other than that works great and worth every penny!
Summary: My kids love this. I have a 2yr old and 9yr old. they can both have their own dvd. even different movies if wanted. I put this at the foot of the bed at bedtime for a treat sometimes. (they dont have t.v in room). Great picture quality and sound. Easy to Use!
Summary: I know that people want the BEST...I think this was the best for the money. It gave some hiccups and I found that we have to use a specific player to be the source player if the kids are going to watch the same video. It also gets "tired" for lack of any other explanation. If they watch a video all the way through and then choose a second video, it needs a rest.
Summary: Bought these players at a great bargain and life them for keeping my kids entertained. Perfect for my little one who watches his movies rear facing and my daughter who faces forward and watches her tween movies. Its great because they never have to share except when they watch their favorite Disney movies together. Only bad side is no control for mom when its just the lil one watching, I have to wait to stop to press play.
