Summary: I picked these up to have in my Jeep when I take my two bos on long trips. They are 5 and 2 right now so their TV watching is either completely different from one another or watching the exact same thing. I never know which direction they will go so I wanted dual players that can play the same movie or individual movies. These Phillips uints do both so it was win/win. My first time using them they worked great out of the box.
Summary: I know that people want the BEST...I think this was the best for the money. It gave some hiccups and I found that we have to use a specific player to be the source player if the kids are going to watch the same video. It also gets "tired" for lack of any other explanation. If they watch a video all the way through and then choose a second video, it needs a rest.
Summary: Used for the past month, including a 3000 mile round trip to Florida. Kids love the fact that you can watch 2 different movies or the same movie on both monitors. Attaches securely to headrests. Ran the power cords through the seats, to keep them out of the way. Picture quality is ok, not great. So far it has been very reliable, does not skip and has not had any problem reading disks. For the price, you cannot beat it.
Summary: I spent a lot of time researching these units. Despite the warnings from those rating one star, I reluctantly purchased the unit due to its ability to play separate DVDs. My reluctance was warranted. Imagine my surprise when the first unit I tried gave me a "bad disk" error after making "clunking" noises for several seconds. The second unit had no trouble playing the same disk. I tried several more disks with the same result. The unit was defective out of the box.
Summary: Very happy with this purchase. My twins love that they can watch their own movie, or watch the same one. There is a brightness button, and it is set to the brightest option b/c they both said the screen was too dark, but I think you'll run into that problem with any portable DVD player that is strapped to the back of a seat as opposed to one that comes with the car. It's great that you can also plug this into the wall.
Summary: Got these DVD players in the summer of 2011. This is February 2012 and they are still going strong. Have not had any problems so far. Our other player was one screen. Like the two screens and love that you can play two different movies at the same time. Great for a long trip or short ones for the Grandchildren.
Summary: We were planning a driving trip with our 3 kids, 15 month old twins and a 3 year old, and I knew I needed to get a dvd player for our SUV to get through the drive! After a lot of in depth research, I decided that this would be the perfect one, and it has!! This is the first portable dvd player our family has had, so I hope it lasts a long time.
Summary: I purchased this item less than a week ago, and just printed out the return labels from amazon because the product was defective. the feature that allows both dvds to play the same movie only worked for about two hours. after that, you only got audio on the second screen. this happened on our ride back from vacation - long car ride vacations being the reason we purchased this item. I opted for a return instead of an exchange.
Summary: I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I think this is the best ever, and the price was great. I have a boy 7 and a girl 4 neither wants to watch the same movie. I will say they need help to work them, but the fact that they can watch different movies and wear headphones is a plus.I am able to do everything from the front seat while my husband drives. My son is getting better at working them.
