After 90 days, $200 gets you a replacement

R. Fleischman, Amazon
13 December 2006
  • Summary: Worked well for a short time. After the 90 day full warranty, however, returning my unit to the Service Center in Texas yielded an offer of $200 plus shipping for a replacement refurbished unit. Given that price, you would have shelled out well over $500 for a portable player and only have another 90 days of coverage.

Product should be recalled.

mongoose, Amazon
19 October 2006
  • Summary: I really enjoyed this product as long as it worked. It has the longest battery life of up to 6 hours. The folding display is a very nice feature on airplanes. The picture quality was better than similarly priced products. Here is the problem. As several reviewers have mentioned, in a year, more or less, the player stops working and will display the dreaded "HO3" error. This seems to be due to the laser lamp getting stuck in position on the rotating shaft.

Don't Buy It! Received the Dreaded Error Message H03.

Elldnc, Amazon
23 March 2006
  • Summary: After a couple of months of light use, the dreaded H03 Error Message showed up and the DVD will not spin. Another model (older) Panasonic put out is famous for this problem and once you get it, you'll pay big bucks to fix it because Panasonic does not have a great customer service. All other people writing positive reviews here probably did so right after they purchased the product and it was working great.

don't purchase any Panasonic products

Joseph Giblin, Amazon
30 November 2005
  • Summary: Don't purchase any products from Panasonic. The warranty is useless. Company policy is warranty for 1 year but it excludes labor which is only under warranty for 90 days so you have to pay $100 to get a "replacement product". They don't even try to fix your product. They just send a replacement if you pay the $100 dollars.
