Excerpt: I am very happy last week because I just got a new portable DVD player . This is what I always wanted to have. I always travel and won’t have enough time to sit on my couch and watch my favorite movies on DVD. Thankfully, my friend gave me this new portable DVD player . My friend gave me this LG DP781 Portable DVD player . I don’t know how much she bought it but I guess it is a bit expensive. It has an 8 inches screent that could somehow let me enjoy my viewing.
Summary: Simply said. It died after 1.5 years of ownership. It was used in the car with appropriate seat mount kit, but it just will not read any DVDs anymore. The buttons on the side are terribly placed on this thing. The capacitive buttons are annoying at best.
Summary: I am so glad we purchased this player. After reading reviews I wasn't so sure. It has a nice picture and easy to understand buttons that even my 4 year old has figured out. We bought it for a 5 hour airplane ride back East with our then 2 and 3 year old. It worked great. You can't hear the sound on an airplane. You have to use headphones, which is the only courteous thing to do. My kids wouldn't keep the headphones on so they just watched it.
Summary: I bought mine and after four or five months, it stopped functioning properly. First it started stopping. I would play the disc and again it would stop, even after I cleaned everything. Then it would run, but not play. I bought mine from Best Buy which went out of business. I forgot about the player till it was time for another trip, so I called LG. Was told I would have to sent the player in, pay for shipping and handling.
Summary: I researched many different portable DVD players and settled on this one for two reasons: 1) the USB port, 2) Why not get an 8-inch screen? I read reviews of possible audio problems with this player but haven't experienced any problems. I think the audio problems dealt with the volume when you didn't have headphones plugged in. But the reason you get a portable DVD player is to watch in on a long road trip or on the airplane. So why wouldn't you use your headphones?
Summary: This was bought for my 7 year old autistic granddaughter who is never very delicate with things. It is easy to use and she loves using it. And it passes the Kaitlyn test which is what I really needed!
