Summary: I have this item from a local dealer on Dec 29,2008 and it dies with in weeks. the DVD's spins out of control. also it scratches DVD"s. Its made in China and I hate it. any high tech stuff made in China and Taiwan. I refuse to buy it. I got two HP Compters Dead.c One hell of expensive top of the line 939 ASUS motherboard SLI 32 Deluse. Dead. and then Fed Ex killed it buy througing it over the appartment bulding to safe time. Gees make a appointment!
Summary: This player packs a lot of features into a very compact package. Great features, not the least of which are progressive scan, component output, and a glorious 10.2" display. Purchased for projected presentations. Only shortfall: component cable not included.
Pros: Advanced Features, Easy Controls, Good Picture, Good Sound, Lightweight, Portable
Summary: I am a photographer living in Guyana. After reading about the features and the specification of this product I now have one which I purchased recently. Many of my customers do not have their own computer or DVD player and I usually carry around this player with me. Its a great Gem I use it to show my customers a preview of their photograps from my memory card or flash drive. This gives them an opportunity to see what they will get in tyhe final print.
Pros: Durable, Easy Controls, Easy to carry around in m, Good Picture, Good Sound, Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Portable
Summary: After years of skepticism about portable DVD players, and having seen dozens, this is the only product to buy! Not only is it the largest screen available on any PDVD (I believe), it has a terrific picture. The controls are simple and efficient and we use it for watching movies in bed, and take it on trips, picnics, etc. I cannot express greater satisfaction with the unit. To say nothing about B & H's price - very competitive, as always.
Pros: Durable, Easy Controls, Good Picture, Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Portable
Summary: I WAS SEARCHING A LONG TIME FOR A GOOD NOT EXPENSIVE 10 INCH DVD PLAYER, AFTER ALL THE RESEARCH I DID I NARROWD DOWN TO THIS ONE, AND I M GLAD I BOUGHT THIS ONE, IT WAS A GREAT BUY. MY DAUGHTER IS ENJOYING IT EVERY MINUTE.
Summary: I bought one of these units back in March from online Wal-Mart. The picture quality for DVD's was excellent. The sound was good too and it had many features not found in other competitors. I really started to like this unit a lot until I placed the CF card from my digital camera into their card slot. Again, the picture quality was excellent when in full screen mode. When viewing in thumbnail mode, the pictures were quite blurry.
Summary: When I got this DVD player I thouht it was great, the features are nice and the i/o ports are many. After about 3 weeks the super sensitive switch that shuts the lcd off when the lid closes started shutting the screen off even when the lid was open, the weight of the white plastic pin held the switch down. Then the next week the hinges gave out, they are solid metal hinges anchored to very soft and brittle plastic, very annoying.
Summary: I have a Powerbook G4 with a 17" display that I was using to play DVD's. I thought it was too big and the battery life too short. I decided to purchased a dedicated portable DVD player. I was pleasantly surprised by the workmanship and the quality of the unit. I would highly recommend this player. I recommend the 10" screen.
Summary: The IDM-1250 does have an A-B repeat mode to it, and what I like is when playing cd's you can keep the screen closed, and the advance buttons and pause and play buttons are on the front,so you don't need the remote to change to different tracks. The picture is just as good as the Philips with 12bit video dacs, and you get the added features of the multi-card reader and USB port. The sound is not bad as far as voulme through the built in speakers, but like other players using...
