Great purchase

ginette carrier, Amazon
11 April 2013
  • Summary: quick delivery. Easy install. love the entertainment it 'll provide and love the reasonable price. my granddaughter faces backward in her car seat and I was worried about attaching anything to the headrest in front of her face - so i attached it to the center headrest and I totally feel comfortable with that. the unit is very secure - and the picture is clear as could be! Great buy!

good dvd player

Clinton Fore, Amazon
28 January 2013
  • Summary: bought this dvd player for long car rides. i have a two year old son who loves baby einstein. when he gets fussy, we just pop in the dvd and he's good to go for a while. makes the driving a lot less stressful. only problem was that he can reach the dvd player with his foot and he likes to kick it after a while of watching. not a very slim dvd player.

Can't Complain

Tia G, Amazon
19 December 2012
  • Summary: For the two basic complaints I saw,my response is,it depends upon the DVD. If the DVD is high quality,it will play fine,it will look fine. The sound quality, again,it depends on the DVD. I have a home-burned DVD with great sound and LQ pictures, but I watched The Avengers and had great picture and quiet sound. I basically sit with it directly in front of my face anyway,so it wasn't a problem for me,but in a car ride or something that would be frustrating.

Wish it was better.

R. Garth "rgarth", Amazon

  • Summary: I have been a bit disappointed with this player I was really hoping it would be better for use around the house. What I wanted was something I could use at my work table etc. but I find the Remote to be an utter frustration and sound to be sub par. The unit seems durable and it does play the Movie just fine but the corner cutting on the model has left it with a few niggling problems.

Ok, but not great

SPiKe, Amazon
23 March 2012
  • Summary: Over all ok. Buyers should note two things however: 1) The head phones pictured are NOT the ones that come with the system. Ear buds come with it, adult size, which do not fit into small kids ears. I bought this for my 4 year old. 2) The head rest mounting bracket does not fit all cars, like my 2011 Jeep Cherokee. I had to go to HD and buy longer screws (M4.7 x 20mm in case you need to know) and use a little duct tape to get it to work. Picture and sound are good.

Meh... I Love Audiovox Products But The Sound Quality Isn't Up To Snuff...

Sheila Chilcote-Collins "Sheila Renee Chilcot..., Amazon
21 March 2012
  • Summary: I own several different Audiovox products and have always been pleased with the sound and overall quality. This DVD player leaves a bit to be desired on the audio side. I got this for my granddaughter since her RCA brand broke. Don't get me wrong - this is a nice package at a great price. I rate it at 3 1/2 stars out of 5. It includes - Audiovox 7-inch Swivel Portable DVD Player with Mount Kit.

No Complaints - A Lifesaver on Long Road Trips

Joseph "jck09", Amazon
30 January 2012
  • Summary: For the past several years, we have depended on portable DVD players to keep our kids occupied on long road trips. In my experience, the beating that a portable player takes means that any player is going to last one or two years, but that even the top brands don't last much longer than that. This Audiovox is positioned for people with that mentality. It has worked well so far. Do I think it will last forever? Probably not, but I don't think our Sony will either.

Probably the last of it's kind

Sacratomato, Amazon
29 December 2011
  • Summary: In a world of IPads, Kindle Fires and Nooks, a portable DVD player might seem a bit anachronistic. We're accustomed to seeing a row of heads looking down at their handhelds and not up at a common screen, which is too bad because this Audiovox DVD player would have been the ultimate car trip accessory ten years ago. A decade ago, my kids shared a small DVD player resting on their thighs. The Audiovox has headrest brackets! Speakers! Headsets! The screen swivels!

Great Price for a Great Product

G. Hearn, Amazon
21 December 2011
  • Summary: There is so much to like about this item. First of all, though you can use it anywhere you like, it's really made for car travel. One might say that you can use a laptop. . . . or if you have a "fancy" car it might already come with a DVD player. . . Well. . . This unit is really for the "rest of us". The one I have is the 7" model, though I see now that there are duel-screens and a 9" model. There are two headphones.

I wanted to love it.

reg, Amazon
26 November 2011
  • Summary: I have had 5 or 6 portable DVD players, including one very pricey model when they first came out. The price of this one is definitely better. I also like that the rechargeable battery is in the unit, not a separate piece. I always misplace the battery when it can separate from the unit. As a result, I rarely use one without plugging it in, whether in the car or in the house. This one does come with the car plug and one you can use in the house.
