Summary: When its working it's excellent. Problem is, it only works when it's plugged in to an AC outlet. The battery won't charge or, more accurately, it holds a charge for a few minutes then crashes. Since I want the portability of the unit, this is critical. Too bad - picture quality and features are good.
Summary: how did we ever survive car trips without this? We've been using this DVD player for 3 years now, and have never had any problems. Given the amount of travel, packing, etc. it has gone through, it's clearly made well. The headphones are junk, however. One lost a hinge pin immediately, and the others don't fit particularly snug so my son fights with them a bit. We take along a pair of headphones that we already had, and these work far better.
Summary: LOVED THIS DVD PLAYER SINCE IT TOOK A USB DRIVE AND SD CARDS BUT THIS UNIT LASTED ME EAXCTLY A YEAR. AFTER THE 1st YEAR THE LENS WENT BAD AND WOULDN'T READ ANY DVDS, EVEN TRIED A LENS CLEANER. 3 out of 5 stars. I PAID OVER $100 FOR THIS UNIT AND WAS HOPING IT HAD SOME LONGEVITY. SOUND AND PICTURE WAS GREAT BUT THE LENS MOVM'T WAS LOUD FROM PURCHASE.
Summary: Purchased dvd player January 2010 for entertainment for our six year old while flying. Worked fine in car and on plane to vacation. Battery life is five hours or less. Be careful not to hit the power button while carrying in portable case or the battery will drain, it is located in an "opened area" of the case (this happened to us so we had no movies for the flight home). The next time we used the player was a three hour road trip in May 2010.
Summary: This is the 3rd one of these we have bought. And the reason we have had to buy 3 is that our 9 year old son is autistic. and he has given these players alot of abuse. Over the 5 years that we've been using them, they have stood up to him throwing and tossing them. Being dropped, not to mention normal abuse. Our first two we bought still play just fine, but you have to either hold the cover down or some small thing like that.
Summary: I bought this for my 2 year old son. I am amazed at how durable this thing has been since I have owned it (little under a year). I have read previous reviews about this product before I bought it but thought for the price... what the heck. This thing has been dropped more times than I can count. The screen has been touched/pushed by my son numerous times and still no problems.
Summary: I purchased this product as a gift. The first one I got from another vendor did not play DVDs. I sent it back for a refund and thought I would get another brand. I came up empty looking for a player that had the options such as an SD card reader and USB port as well as the large screen size. In fact for this price this was the only one out there that had the features I was looking for. This one arrived and worked right out of the box.
Summary: Good unit; I like the ability to used the SD slot with my still camera shots. The picture quality is better then most that I have seen, and we have had two other brand units of DVD player. This unit has with stood a car trip to Florida with toddelers and the beach, not bad for $100 unit. It is hooked up to the TV as a home player now, and is still working great.
