Summary: This Walkman is an absolute beauty in terms of design; the sleek aluminium and magnesium body really shows what Sony could do in the pinnacle of CD usage. The charging stand is really useful - most consumer electronics today seem to be supplied without such a practical accessory. The motor is so quiet and sophisticated and quite fast at seeking tracks.
Summary: I got this for my neice and she used it for years. You can go wrong with sony walkmans. Sony has always done good by me. It was several years old before it gave out. She was about 10 when she got it and really worked it over. It took a lot of licks and kept going.
Summary: I purchased a used Walkman knowing it has a faulty charging circuit. The fault made the unit most affordable and since it will be used in a stationary application it will rely on plug-in power. I downloaded the owner's manual and PC software from the Sony website. While I just needed a high-quality CD player, I happily now have a great way to record sound files and super flexibility in how I choose to play them back. A well designed unit at a bargain price.
Summary: At first glance this little player looks great. It's light and slim. One shortcoming is that the information window on the controller stick requires a magnifying glass to read it (I'm not kidding). I can't get the "G-Shock" function to work and I can't tell whether the product is defective or that it is just virtually impossible to activate it; I spent almost an hour on the phone with Sony tech to no avail. They seem to think it is defective.
Summary: Sony really screwed up with this product. The flaws apply to every aspect of its operation. The sound quality is inferior to older Sony Discman products, the headpones included leave much to be desired, the display that is included is almost impossible to read even under the best conditions, control of bass and treble mix is done via limited preset options (none of which I found to my liking), the mechanism for opening the CD container is a study in non user...
Summary: I had this CD player for a year and a half now. BTW jon...i kno wut ur problem is...u burned the cds with too high of a speed. i had that problem before until i figured out that if u set the burning speed of the cds to 24x, the mp3 cd will work perfectly. Too fast of a burning speed will causes writing errors on the cd which nero or any other burning program cannot correct. Try setting your burning speed to 24x max.
Summary: I DID NOT HAVE THIS MODEL BUT IVE HAD 2 OTHER SONY ATRAC CD PLAYERS WITH THE SAME RESULTS, WHEN I BURNT A CD OF MY FAVORITE SONGS WITH 150 TRACKS THE SONICSTAGE PROGRAM SKIPPED 4 OR 5 OF MY SONGS DURING THE WRITING PROCESS. AND ALL OF THE MP3 FILES WORKED PROPERLY. OK NO PROBLEM RIGHT? WRONG.
Summary: I've had my unit for about 6 months now and am more pleased with it than ever! I went through quite an ordeal trying to figure out if I wanted to invest in the ipod craze or stick to a much better version of the walkman than I had been used to for years! Today, I'm glad I decided on the sony dne-10.
Summary: I was hoping I'd see more reviews for this product since it is in fact a very nice mp3/cd player. It's funny because I never thought to look at any reviews for the player until I actually bought it. Should have thought about that. Fortunately, it met my expectations and I really like it. There were two main reasons I got it.
Summary: The Good: * Sony Proprietary Atrac3Pro Compression - Burns more high quality audio files per CD than possible with audio compressed in other formats. * Excellent battery life! - This device is used 2-3 hours per day, after 2 weeks the battery is only one 'notch' below full. * Remote Commander - All functions accessible from this one small unit, great layout and easy to navigate functionally.
