Summary: I bought this device so I could make use of a collection of CDs. Of course, after one has used an MP3 player, CD players seem rather dated in terms of bulkiness and handling needs. With that qualification, this CD player performs well. The sound is satisfactory and the controls are easy to use. If you need a portable CD player, this is a good, cheap solution for your needs.
Summary: Works well. Only drawback as I see it are that the controls are awkward to use because of their mounting on the side of the unit and are verrrry small; also the LCD readout is difficult to read - would be better if it were LED instead.
Summary: Yes, it looks cool - it sounds good and works well, but what were these Sony engineers thinking? The controls are practically invisible. The beveled edge of the unit make the buttons unreadable. Opening the unit to insert a new disc requires picking up the unit to slide the latch over. If you plan to use this as a table top player - such as on your nightstand, forget it! Look at another model. But, the sound is clear and true, the bass controlled.
Summary: This is a fine little CD player and sounds very good hooked up to my Altec Lansing M602 speaker. I like the form factor and it looks good in black. The symbols on the buttons are hard to see, but being black instead of an easier to see silver, does add to the cool look. It does not include an AC adapter, and clearly states so on the back of the package.
Summary: I bought the white version of this CD player (which is exactly identical except in color), to replace a Panasonic SL-SX480 which was skipping too much. I'd heard great things about "Sony Sound Quality", and figured that this player would at least match or compare to Panasonic's D.Sound. It does not. In fact, the sound quality of this player is really quite poor until you turn it up beyond volume level 6, and you can only do that if you have AVLS turned off.
Summary: This player met my expectations in every way and it was very inexpensive so I am happy. I bought it for books on CD so I can't judge how well it will handle music. Hard Rockers need another review.
