almost indestructible

Lynne A. Neidenbach, Amazon
20 January 2014
  • Summary: This CD player took a lot of abuse before it finally gave up the ghost. I tried to buy another one but due to the seller sending it to someone else. It is well worth the money.

Its becoming dead technology

Corey, Amazon
12 December 2012
  • Summary: I rebought this because i use to own one back when they would sell these at stores but i rebought it cause it reads mp3's but at times, it will struggle to operate to play, not so sure its due to the condition or of its use, not sure but i ordered it and it works when i get it to. i guess for the price i paid for it, it was over priced for its operatable inconvienience, anyway, thats the risk you take when you order products online.

I'd buy one again in a heartbeat.

S. J. Baden, Amazon
20 November 2012
  • Summary: I use my mp3/cd player virtually every day, and this Philips model has been very reliable. Although I consider myself careful with this unit, it has fallen to the floor at least 8-10 times. Every time it drops, I say, "Rats! This thing is gonna be broken for sure!" and every time, I just brush it off, turn it on...and it plays! I would buy one of these again in a heartbeat!

Best CD player I ever owned!

Wayne Hobson, Amazon
27 September 2012
  • Summary: Okay - its heavy, its not very attractive, and it doesn't come with a belt clip - those are the cons upfront. So why did I give it 5 stars? Here are the pros - the sound is great - crisp & clear (no background noise at the beginning of or in between tracks), its durable (dropped it a few times & it still worked just fine), and its comparable to some of Sony's players, yet less expensive. Here are more pros... It can play CD-Rs (your own burned CDs) as easily as CDs .

Wretched for playing MP3 files

plhgg, Amazon
10 May 2011
  • Summary: I have some books on MP3 files, and this product is virtually unusable for them. I've also used a Sony CD Walkman (D-NF400), and if you stop playing the CD with MP3 files on it, it will resume at the point where you turned it off -- it won't resume if you remove the CD, but that's not as bad as having to start again at the beginning each time you turn the player off.

Good for music.

Vance R. Howard, Amazon
19 March 2011
  • Summary: This player is awesome for music, regular cd's and MP3 cd's. It however does not resume playback where you left off for MP3's, so it is a pain for books on cd in the MP3 format. That is what I bought it for and it doesn't work the way I wanted it to. So I returned it.

Happy Teen

C. Johnson, Amazon
4 February 2011
  • Summary: Wow, our teenage daughter loves this product and she is hard to please. I wasn't overly convinced on the whole touch screen concept at first but that changed once I had a chance to use it. It works great, looks great and is a must buy for any teen that likes to burn their own cd's.

A good idea executed poorly

Fredrick Nielson James III "nerd", Amazon
24 December 2010
  • Summary: This CD player is very ambitious, which is probably why it isn't executed well. It has 200 second anti-skip protection, a touch-screen, MP3/WMA CD capabilities, and can play CD-RWs. Why isn't it good? It can supposedly play MP3/WMA CDs, and it can play CD-RWs, but when you mix the two, it won't play half the songs. My sister also has this CD player, and it has the same problem. I put the MP3 CD-RW on shuffle, and some songs play, and others don't.
