Summary: CD MP3 players are quickly becoming obsolete, why go to the trouble of burning CD's when you can just upload songs 20 times faster. Memory wise CD players are super cheap, 1 CD costs about a 20 cents compared to the big bucks for spare memory cards, that to me is the only advantage of CD MP3 players. CD players are big and bulky and not easy to fit in ones pocket. The no skip feature is touchy at best, sometimes it great sometimes it isn't.
Summary: It occasionally can't play a track properly and freezes. The only way to sort try it is to flick around tracks or even turn it on and off, which is a pain because... Depending on what CD it is playing it can take 20 seconds to turn on! Criminal really. My £15 walkman never did that.
Summary: I did a lot of research and decided that this would be the best MP3 player for me. It was against my existing cassette walkman and NetMD. Pros ---- The sound quality is pretty good, a lot better and louder than my walkman and plays at the right speed too. I can play all my exsiting CD's + new MP3 ones. Sexy looking. Cons ---- Battery life is terrible, I get about 3 hours for CD's on batteries, so I have to charge it every other day.
Summary: first of all i would like to say this is a great product for anyone completely set on an mp3 cd player. If you are a first time digital audio buyer like i was plaease give a flash or hard drive player much more consideration. I thought this would probably be a better player than most because it could play cds. to get cds you just have to go thru the simple process of ripping.
Summary: I'm not one to bash but I have a few things to say about the IMP-400 that others seem to be missing. First off I was very disappointed at the boot time. Why does a CD player have to boot? When you put a disk in you should be able to hit play and listen to your music. With this unit you put the disk in and hit play and the thing has to literally boot up.
Summary: I just purchased this player and while I think it is pretty good overall, I will share my thoughts as to the main pros of cons of it. Pro 1. Nice styling, slim, light, doesn't feel cheap. 2. Good sound. 3. Upgradeable Firmware = Flexible, future proof machine. 4. Iriver Customer Service is good. Cons 1. I do not like having all the readout on the remote. The remote gets tangled with the headphone cord and it becomes difficult to manage.
