As good a portable MP3/CD player as is available right now

Summary: Let's face it: there is today a dizzying array of cd players, MP3 players, and combination cd/MP3 players available on the market, and most of these are a lot cheaper than the SlimX. So why spend the money for this comparatively pricey unit? First of all, the bottom line when evaluating any music player should be sound quality, and this machine is first-rate in this respect.
Summary: I bought this player about a month and half ago on Amazon. I was looking for a player that played all the common formats (mp3, audio cd, etc.). I also listen to FM radio a lot so ideally liked to have that too. This player came with all that and more. It's compatible with more formats that most players. It's also outstanding looking...really slim and light. The remote is gorgeous and informative and easy to use. It comes with a simple cover (that picks up a lot of lint!
Summary: I purchased my SlimX iMP-350 2 weeks ago. This has been plenty of time to assess the product. Cheers to iRiver for so many features in a product. I wanted an Frequency Modulated Tuner in my CD player, so that narrowed down the choices. As far as shock protection, anything around 45 sec to 1 minute was enough for me. iRiver surprised me with significantly more. Here are my opinions: >Excellent sound quality for a portable device.
Summary: If you're looking for a lightweight, portable CD player that really knows how to play MP3 files, this is it. This is the only one that I've found (and I've tried several) that can handle the combination of MP3s and CD-RW media without hiccuping. As I'd already converted most of my music collection to MP3, and really wanted to able to hear it in my car without changing discs every 10 songs or so, this one filled the bill.
