Turok is a mostly a shooting game. It features an interesting story, good writing, and stunning voice dubbing. The plot of the story is about Turok and his team going after a war criminal on a mysterious planet inhabited by dinosaurs. Turok features a variety of settings and challenges ending in an accomplished and satisfying way. Having to deal with both human soldiers and carnivorous dinosaurs, make the game more interesting than a normal shooting game. Turok’s main weapon is a knife suitable for close furtive kills, and very quickly he gets his signature bow which is advertised on the loading screens. The bow allows for "silent kills”, meaning that he can kill quietly and silently. But this is not so simple; sometimes Turok can be in hiding and tackle the enemy without the latter or his accomplices noticing him. But at other times, though Turok can be well hidden, the enemy will instantly see Turok and open fire. Some players find Turok to be somewhat inconsistent. They also find that the game lacks on the visuals and the jungle lacks life. However Turok remains an entertaining shooter, with its good writing, and nicely diverse play it succeeds in pulling fans towards it.

"Dinosaurs eat meat. You are meat, run away!" This is just one of the many humorous chunks of dialogue you are treated to during the loading sections of this re-birth of a long-forgotten franchise. Turok for Xbox 360 and PS3 feels more like a re-imagining of the series as opposed to a straight up sequel. Granted you are still of native American descent, you spend the majority of the game battling prehistoric enemies and your most powerful allies are a knife and bow but... Read more

The multiplayer in turok is another great feature, although frustrating at times because of the lower quality it brings vs the single player mode its still fun to run and gun. However if you have ever played COD4 mp you wont even touch this part of turok. Read more

There are few things you can rely on in the world these days.  But one of the few Ultimate Truths still remaining is this:  Dinosaurs are cool.  Anyone that argues with you is probably someone that hated Jurassic Park and, therefore, is crazy. Read more

While Turok is certainly reborn on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, it's neither a monumental achievement nor an abomination. The edgy style, giant boss battles, big guns, and third-person dino-mauling bits certainly show that Propaganda Games have a lot of respect for what the franchise has meant to its fans, but at the same time it seems they either played it too safe or didn't let it sit in the oven long enough. There's even the reach made to involve the dinosaurs as... Read more

In short you could say that this Turok is a rough diamond that could have been brilliant given more cutting. Right now the game lacks a bit refinement to really compete with the best. It's certainly an ideal rental game, just because hunting down dinosaurs is so cool, but I'm afraid it's also nothing more. Read more

Should this game have been left to die with the dinosaurs? As a concept, Turok, the first person shooter with added dinosaurs, has been around for longer than the last Ice Age. After previously receiving a full release on the now antiquated N64 and subsequent PC, PlayStation and even Gameboy Advance ports it‘s now the turn of the next–gen platforms and frankly, we‘re a little under whelmed. You fill the combat boots of one Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando,... Read more

A good game if you like 3rd person shooters but if you're looking for story lines, puzzles and more you should avoid it. It's just basically running around shooting enemies and dinosaurs and it's certainly nothing we havent seen before. Read more
