Ea and blackbox are at it again with the sequel to acclaimed 2007 release of Skate.  This evolution of the series is here to not only knock Tony Hawk’s series backwards more but totally out of the park. Read more

There's no question that Skate 2 is a high quality game, packed to the brim with things to do and one of the best control schemes we've ever had the fortune to use. Read more

    • Loads to do, Can look great, Superb control scheme

The city bustles, yet simultaneously feels devoid of life. And the Old Testament-esque do-it-again-until-you-do-it-right gameplay will prevent casual gamers from seeing the final third of the game. Read more

    • The game's opening cinema. There's more panache, spirit, and humor in this three-minute prison-yard montage (set to "Showdown" by ELO and "Anubis" by Anubis) than there is in the entire Tony Hawk series.
    • You wind up spending three hours trying to earn a measly 800 points in an "own-the-spot" challenge.

When EA Black Box's Skate dropped in 2007 there was much talk of it being a usurper to the Tony Hawk series' reigning dominance. That particular 500 pound gorilla named "Hawk" is now safely out of the room, which leaves the... Read more

is a good game eventhough it doesn't offer so much more than its predecessor. For episode 2 we are happy with more of the same, the good and realistic controls, the satisfaction-giving gameplay and beautiful presentation. Read more

    • Gameplay still fresh and engaging, Enough new stuff, Beautiful presentation, Plenty of content for several hours
    • Some clumsyness and frustration by dragging objects or people running in the way, Online needs to be better, Controls demand subtle input

I went through that pretty quickly. That’s because none of it matters. The small pitfalls and the tiny steps forward do little to hide that skate 2 is simply real skateboarding done justice in a video game – but that’s... Read more

Skate 2 is the continuation of the greatest innovation in skateboarding video games since the first Tony Hawk, but unfortunately some issues keep it from being the skating nirvana that I had hoped. Read more

    • Absolutely the best skateboarding game ever made. AMAZING!!! The ability to move objects is a big plus. It makes the game way fun when you see a sick drop-off and make it even tighter with a 4 bench train toppin it.
    • A little bit more arcade style then Skate 1. And the video guy is just as annoying as he was in the first one.
  5. Skate 2 - the best skating experience on the PS3 to date.
