In The Resistance 2, Nathan Hale, the protagonist character who is controlled by the player, travels to the United States in order to battle the Chimera, who have launched a full scale invasion of both the east and west coasts. He joins a special task force named The Sentinels, which the soldiers are infected with the Chimeran virus, same as him, and keep the disease under control with drugs. The game features all the weapons from the previous series and introduces "Marksman" and a mini gun called the "HVAP (High Velocity Armor Piercing) Wraith". At a time, a player only allowed to carry two weapons and also limited numbers of grenades. It uses an automatic regenerative health system, whereby players must keep out of the line of fire in order to recover health. There are two modes in multiplayer, which are cooperative and competitive. Both modes track the player’s performance, gaining experience and leading to benefits and rewards, as well as assigning the player a skill ranking. Competitive mode enables up to 60 players competing simultaneously.

It must be extremely tiring to be Lieutenant Nathan Hale, after single handedly quelling the Chimeran invasion of England he’s back to war in Resistance 2 . Curiously, the Chimeran didn’t take kindly to their plans being foiled during the fall of man, so they’ve followed Lt. Hale home to the United States. Although Lt. Hale had the bright spot of a promotion between the two conflicts, he’s also learned that he has an extremely advanced stage of the Chimeran... Read more
Overall, Resistance 2 does what it advertises, as it improves on the great Resistance: Fall of Man title. Departing from the World War II feel of the first game might not be a lot of gamers' cup of tea but it still gives an adrenaline filled experience, although seemingly a bit futuristic. It looks stunning, impresses through its vastness and leaves a lasting impact on the player. Unfortunately, the multitude of scripted moments, the fact that enemies only seem to target... Read more
The original "Resistance: Fall of Man" was a PS3 launch title. It was a dark, gritty FPS set in 1950s Britain. In this reality however there was no Second World War, instead a war began against the Chimera, an alien race who could convert humans on to their own kind. In the original game you took the role of an American Ranger (Nathan Hale) sent in with the first wave of US support to help out the struggling British troops. Read more
This is a very enjoyable game. Great Graphics and an exciting range of weapons. I like the fact that the main character can only keep 2 main weapons with him at the same time which makes you have to choose when there's an opportunity to pick up other weapons and forces you to think ahead. Another positive element of gameplay is the fact the character heals itself by taking cover in stead of having to look for 'health packs'. I'm not sure about the originality of the... Read more
If you like Metal Gear and Halo, Resistance 2 is a fun game to fill in some time with. Great environments if you can stay alive and not get killed by the aliens. But the fun is staying alive and making it through the game. Play for yourself or go online it is one game I really enjoy. Read more
The graphics were dark orange in the begining then when I got to the prison the coloring was still to poor for good game play, oh yeah I can play and there were aliens which appeared to be kind of 1980's theamed. The game doesn't say play me it says we tried to make a game. Read more
Just thought I would add a user opinion. I realy enjoy playing this game. Between the epic campain and the massive 60 player battles online the fun never stops. This game deliverd a stunning visuals at the time of its release . Not to mention creative gameplay. One of the most notible levels is the Chicago level where there are chimera litteraly lurching torwards you, while you shotgun them. The sound track is awsome. There is litteraly nothing to hate about the game.... Read more
I am a big fan of the first game. It is one of the reasons for my PS3 purchase. This game takes it a step further with the graphics and the massive scale of the boss fights. One drawback is the removal of the "weapons wheel" from the first game. Being a fan of the Ratchet & Clank series, I found this to be a great asset in a FPS. I also think the story was some how shortened or condensed to make room for the massive 60 player online. I enjoyed this game greatly and will... Read more
