Resistance 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 3. It is the sequel for the Resistance: Fall of Man. It was released on November 3, 2008 in North America; November 13, 2008 in Japan; November 27, 2008 in Australia; and November 28, 2008 in Europe. It allows single-player, co-op, online co-op, multiplayer and online multiplayer modes. It was rated as 18 by BBFC, M by ESRB, MA15+ by OFLC and 18+ by PEGI.

Features

In The Resistance 2, Nathan Hale, the protagonist character who is controlled by the player, travels to the United States in order to battle the Chimera, who have launched a full scale invasion of both the east and west coasts. He joins a special task force named The Sentinels, which the soldiers are infected with the Chimeran virus, same as him, and keep the disease under control with drugs. The game features all the weapons from the previous series and introduces "Marksman" and a mini gun called the "HVAP (High Velocity Armor Piercing) Wraith". At a time, a player only allowed to carry two weapons and also limited numbers of grenades. It uses an automatic regenerative health system, whereby players must keep out of the line of fire in order to recover health. There are two modes in multiplayer, which are cooperative and competitive. Both modes track the player’s performance, gaining experience and leading to benefits and rewards, as well as assigning the player a skill ranking. Competitive mode enables up to 60 players competing simultaneously.
