Somewhere in Africa, innocent villagers are transforming into ruthless abominations. Chris Redfield and his new partner, Sheva Alomar, must stop whatever is causing the disturbing turn of events. Now featuring online co-op, players can experience the next generation of fear together as terror moves out of the shadows and into the light of day.
At its barest, Resident Evil 5 is a polished experience. The checkpoint system is fair, not belittling, the pacing is strong and the campaign is, ironically, a better length than its predecessor. Yes, in a day and age when we moan about the length of games, Resident Evil 5’s twelve hours is highly respectable and negates much of the backtracking which padded out its darker forebear. You can go back and collect the B.S.S.A. badges too if you wish, and the Mercenaries... Read more
Again Capcom manages to reach the high level of quality of its predecessors with a new Resident Evil game. Polished graphics, a large diversity and intense gameplay as well as a fun co-op make a beautiful game. The horror is a bit missing though, something that will sadden a lot of people. For those who are long-time fans, the title will be a mediocre stab at trying to recreate the successful recipe of Resident Evil 4. For new players, the game will be a... Read more
Resident Evil 5's genre may have evolved from "horror survival" to "horror shoot-em-up" and the new high-def silky smooth animations may justify that $1500 HDTV you recently purchased. When all of this year's PS3 and Xbox 360 games are laid out for comparison, you'll glance at Resident Evil 5 and recall the good times a love/hate relationship with an old friend brought back again. I bought the "Gold" edition for the Xbox 360. I paid FULL PRICE for this game. I found out that this version does not have the content on the disc. In fact the disc is the SAME disc I already have!!!!! They give you a coupon to redeem the new contect for free. 2 issues here: 1.) I paid FULL price for the SAME game. I could have downloaded the new content for LESS. 2.) Even worse, I have the core system. I don't HAVE A HARD DRIVE! The box doesn't make this clear. In... Read more
