Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Reviewer: hard.hardgame2.com19 November 2007- Overall 7

Read more

This game is saved only by the quality of the title's gameplay. But gameplay is no better this year than it was last year and everything else is quite poorly done. I expected a lot more from the folks at Konami. Somehow Konami and EA have to join forces and create the one football ring to rule them all. EA's FIFA has got the licensing and presentation down, but the gameplay can't compare to the smoothness of Pro Evolution Soccer. Likewise, PES is so unattractive and u... Read more

If you haven't yet purchased a football game for your PSP then Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is definitely the game to go for. If you've purchased PES 6 and aren't fussed about the improved transferable data support that PES 2008 has with PES 2008 for the PlayStation 2, then it's probably a little more difficult to justify a purchase. On the one hand you do have the improved frame rates and shorter loading times but there still isn't any support for online play and that ... Read more

Finally, it's next-gen PES - so why do we feel a bit sad?
Reviewer: gamesradar.com08 November 2007- Overall 8

Don't get us wrong - this is still PES, and at its core, an incredible game - and it'll be even better if they sorted the slowdown. Few multi-player games foster such emotion, and we still play it every lunch time, only with slightly less enthusiasm than before. Why? After a relatively modest 30 hours-plus of play, it feels less divinely balanced, and cruel, than Pro Evolution Soccer 6. By any other standards, it's still the best next-gen football game, so buy it with... Read more

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Reviewer: gamespot.com01 November 2007- Overall 6

Ultimately, the success of Pro Evolution Soccer is a paradox for the game's designers. It's difficult to improve on the standard that was achieved with the fifth version of the game, but the designers could certainly start by introducing some next-generation features to the PlayStation 3. Although it's bad enough that it doesn't differ from its predecessor in any noteworthy way, the technical problems and laggy online mode combine to make cause serious gameplay issues... Read more

The best, if flawed, footy game out there. If you've played previous Pro Evo games you know how good it is so I'll just have a moan about the probs instead of listing it's good points. Slow down does happen, sorry but it's true, can be a pain when you get a load of players in the box and replays suck due to it. Why include diving when you get booked every bloody time?? Mark Lawrenson. The man sounds like he's either bored sh**less or his reading a monologue for the wo... Read more
