Elefunk is the latest puzzle title to hit PlayStation Store. Its concept is a bizarre twist on the genre; it takes Elephants and dumps them in a jungle full of flimsy bridges - and without your help the bridges will collapse if they so much as step foot on it. Read more

The goal of each level is simple: Get an elephant (or two) from its starting platform to the end of the level by building a network of ropes and bridges using a finite pool of construction pieces. If you don't know what a truss is or possess little understanding of weight distribution, you'll have a rough start; the tutorial doesn't help a whit, and the game doesn't exactly ease you into things. For all but the most architecturally inclined, it's a lot of trial and error... Read more

However, when you finally watch your pachyderm dancing, safe at his destination, the sense of satisfaction is almost obscene: and this is what’ll keep you coming back for more. Throw in a fiercely competitive scoring system (which counts down like a timer, then adjusts points according to the number of girders used) plus the overwhelming cuteness of the elephants, and you’ll happily dedicate hours to honing your building skills. Fossil evidence suggests that the elephant family may share distant ancestry with sea cows and hyraxes, a rodent-like mammal that lives in Africa and the Middle East. Read more

Elefunk's concept isn't an entirely original one, either. Anyone who has played the Bridge Builder/Pontifex series of PC games will see the obvious inspiration Elefunk has drawn from them, and like those games, Elefunk is a game that will probably end up with a relatively small but enthusiastic fan base. This is a puzzle game for people who enjoy applying their minds to a very specific kind of problem: the problem of how to get an elephant across a chasm. If this sounds... Read more

Ok so today Im going to review elefunk. No, not the (c)rap/hiphop kr3w that rocked your teeny bopper socks off back in twenty-oh-three But the new physics puzzler from SCE which reminds us during startup to not let go of our controllers while they are in motion. Elefunk revolves revolves around moving elephants over chasms and elephants on rocket cycles propelling themselves over even larger chasms. Yes, thats right. You really do get to fly elephants evel knievel style... Read more

$5 - yes, its only $5 for this PSN Store game with enough to warrent a BUY. BTW, this is more India themed than African. My GF loves this game even though her love for India and Elephants makes her very sad when she see the scared lil elephents shaking in fear. I on the other don't feel like retrying a level over and over just to end in failure. Its also a great drinking game in multiplayer, take a shot or huge drink everytime the collapses. Read more
