Initially, it must say that the cause pain for points in this scar-inducing downloadable game! The core, unique mechanic of the game allows the player to load a character into an extreme launching device, such as a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment. The active player receives points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing chaos in the environment. He must achieve a wide variety of goals and / or reach various scoring milestones in each of the different modes of play. During it, a mixture of pain and joy, which resulted from winning will be covered all the topics of the event.
See lessVisually the game is fairly ordinary, though it does have its own unique style, and there is plenty of wit in both the sound and graphical design. While things do get a little repetitive after a while, there's a huge amount here for your money, and though it will likely be little more than a passing fad, Pain deserves plentiful success. With several planned expansions, Pain is another gem in Sony's underrated PSN crown. Read more
At heart, I think nearly everyone who plays videogames is a closet designer. I challenge you to find a player who hasn't at least one time or another uttered the phrase, "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a game where you..." As it relates to Pain , the question ends with, "...could launch someone out of a giant slingshot." Although it is a neat idea, Pain also proves that not every idea translates into a great, long-lasting experience. As far as downloadable games go,... Read more
Why do we like to see people hurt themselves? Simple, because it’s not happening to us. Shows like Jackass and its various spin-offs are hugely successful, and all because we get to see halfwits hurt themselves for our entertainment. Read more
Developer: Idol Minds Digital Entertainment Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment Features 1-2 Players I remember the first time I saw Pain; it was at E3 in Santa Monica in July 2007. My first thought was “what a great idea, launching a game character through the air into a destructible environment with no negative consequences in sight. Yep, my inner devil was speaking and I have admit I didn’t feel single pang of guilt in the fact that this game... Read more
The disappointment begins before you even play the game. After taking the time to download and extract the game, the first thing that you get to do after launching the game is to download a required patch. The amazing thing is that this is a 210MB patch. I've only seen patches of this size when MMORPG's are rolling out a major upgrade or expansion. How could such a small game with so little to it require such a massive patch? This mystery only deepens when you finally... Read more
My Review of By K-Man So you start walking down the street and it’s a nice day thinking nothing bad is going to happen until you see a shadow hovering over you and before you realized it, you were just falling through a bunch a stairs, being run over by a subway, and trampling over old ladies. And all this was caused by a guy who for some reason has a big-ass slingshot that keeps flinging himself to buildings and whatnot causing havoc and pain. PAIN is a downloadable... Read more
what a disappointment! I expected at least something on a level with LittleBig Planet but apparently this one let me down big time. No game play at all / just katapulting poor guy in the walls. And yes, you get bonus points if you smash him nicely! but come on! how long yoyu can do the same? i played for an hour just to see am i missing something... i will never get this hour back. Good luck! Read more

This is a game that is super easy to pickup and play (My two year old loves it) but is harder to master. The only problem is that there is only one level, but for only $10 that is no big deal as long as they come out with more eventually. The physics work really well, the graphics are decent, and the game itself is freakin hilarious. Read more
