Review Summary
NBA 2K8 is the kind of game that keeps improving itself year by year, release by release and by doing that, it tends not to go backwards on its technologies. It is also the kind of game that makes its players and teams look and play realistically by having these characters acting as they would in real life. Based on the American sports, it would be better if gamers knew who the game players are and what their capabilities as NBA players are as well as what kind of teams they are in. As NBA 2K8 functions exactly as these teams and their players would perform. A certain reviewer quoted that someone has spent a lot of time telling this game who’s who, and it makes all the difference in the world. Every situation is different from the other, this helps a lot in not boring the gamers as well as creating excitement for each and every game they play. The controls available now are a bit different from the ones previously used. They are able to call for a play or get the players moving without the ball. One reviewer claimed that the players’ faces are the only flaws in this game as they seem scary at times. Aside from that this game looks and plays like a real basketball game.

NBA 08
Reviewer: deafgamers.com01 April 2008- Overall 8

NBA 08 might not be the first 'next-generation' basketball game to be regarded as a classic but it's certainly a good game in its own right and it certainly has its moments. The lack of a Franchise/Dynasty mode does hurt the game somewhat however and it's a fair bet that this is the biggest complaint that most will have with the game. There are no online leagues either, which can also be regarded as a disappointment. That said however, I have enjoyed playing NBA 08 a... Read more

- Overall 8

A solid contender for the best basketball simulator out there, 2K8 improves upon last year's game by adding content and removing fluff, while focusing on creating a smoother gameplay model. But like layups, the results are mostly there but with an occasional miss. Read more

NBA 08
Reviewer: hard.hardgame2.com16 March 2008- Overall 6

Read more

NBA '08
Reviewer: nzgamer.com28 February 2008- Overall 7

Following on the back of last year's NBA 07, 2008’s version looks to rectify the wrongs of its seemingly rushed predecessor. However, it is entering a market full of hostility, with competitors vying for the NBA fan's dollar, and with two other 2008 basketball sims out there already, Sony will have its work cut out to take a share of the market. NBA 08
Reviewer: swapgame.com05 December 2007Basketball isn't, let's face it, the most English of sports. We typically like our sports to be outdoors, mucky and accessible to short people. That doesn't mean you won't get a kick out of NBA '08, however. The pounding on the boards, the sweat, the high-flying, the obscenely tall folk... Then there's the 1080p sporting experience. There are the new character models with improved animations and new textures for a more realistic look to the players. There's the new pr... Read more
