Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in my opinion doesn't manage to live up to the impressive hype, but just barely, as it doesn't amaze like part 1. Of course the game is good, but the flaws in the singleplayer bothered me. The multiplay on the other hand contains more depth, more possibilities for customizing, a lot more killstreaks/deathstreaks, varied maps, and so on. As a whole, MW2 is spectacular in all the right areas; building and refining on the most solid of bases. And although its political heart might not be in the ‘right’ place, at the very least it might make a few people think rather than skim through on muscle memory and twitch reactions. If you travel south enough at this time of the year, you will find summer somewhere; so it’s perfectly fine that Activision waited until November to release the single best high-octane summer blockbuster of the year. There's a very short list of game developers that can continually and consistently impress gamers with each new release and Infinity Ward is near the top of that list. Each new Call of Duty game somehow manages to top its predecessor, and the games' campaigns and multiplayer action maintain their level of intensity from one release to the next. Modern Warfare 2 continues this Call of Duty legacy and does it proud. Read more
