When it comes down to it, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots provides what may easily be the most memorable experience of this generation so far. Despite being one of the most hyped games of this generation so far, every Metal Gear fan has no reason to not get Metal Gear Solid 4. If you’re one of those people that wanted to get into previous Metal Gear Solid games, but found the gameplay to not be accessible enough for you, MGS4 should be the game that welcomes... Read more
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a stellar entry in the series and ultimately one of the most rewarding videogame experiences of the decade. Absolutely essentially, regardless whether you are a fan or not. Read more
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a game which tries to do quite a lot – and succeeds. If the heavy storytelling and cutscene rate put you off previous titles, avoid this one like the plague as it probably won’t change your opinion. Although fans of the series will doubtlessly enjoy this title more than the newbies, it’s still certainly worth checking out if you’re new to MGS, at the very least for a rental. If you aren’t a big fan of Metal Gear Solid , I wouldn’t go as... Read more
Metal Gear Solid 4 is by far one of the best games I have ever played in over 25 years of playing video games. Two games for the price of one with an entire movie (with all the cut-scenes counted) thrown in make the game worth every penny you could spend on it. MGS 4 is a game that can actually evoke an emotional response from me (other than tossing my controller in frustration) and I count that as a massive achievement. Read more
If I had to pick the best game I've ever played, it would be this one. I have been playing games since the NES days, and after completing MGS4, you will just sit there like o_o The graphics are amazing and the gameplay has been greatly upgraded compared to the other MGS games. Some may consider the length and number of cutscenes to be a downside, but any fan of the MGS series will know that the story-telling is what has made this game so great. 5 stars hands down. Snake is back with more weapons! I've played all the MGS Games through the years, and the graphics, story line, and new options that this game has to offer is a dream come true. The high quality of this game being in blu-ray format allows continuous play and action in high definition quality. Read more
It's just like your ten year high school reunion: MGS4 is full of nostalgia (and not just limited to seeing familiar characters again), but after it's all over you kind of wish for something more... meaningful. Don't be afraid of jumping in cold -- the flashbacks will make even a newly minted gamer feel like they grew up with Snake. Definitely the flagship PS-only game from a visionary game maker. Read more
This is right up there with Assassin's Creed and Halo 3 as the worst games I have ever wasted my money on. I am so sick of these boring, self-indulgent film clips and feeble attempts to craft a story. If they spent half as much time on developing the controls and weapons as they did on stupid cut scenes, the game would be a whole lot better. Read more
this is the greatest franchise to me in the world, at least consider remaking solid snake first missions in outer heaven and zanzibar the 2 metal gears of the msx system previous to metal gear solid with the narrative gameplay and polished graphics you have achieved. God bless you for making this game if only 1 up could ask kojima!!!! Read more
