There has been much anticipation surrounding the latest chapter in the MGS saga and I am happy to report that this one didn’t disappoint. Up until now games like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare were the gold standard as far as the PS3 console was concerned, they were. After playing [...] Read more
The Metal Gear Solid series is one of the few around to bear the moniker "must have" for most every one of its games. The series has had a particularly strong showing on PlayStation consoles, with the original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for the PlayStation 2 and the latest chapter, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots , gearing up for the PlayStation 3. I’ve always grown up with the notion that a 10/10 means a game is perfect and that no improvements can be made upon the genera. But MGS4 has changed my perception of this, and anything less than a 10 seems like a travesty in my opinion. While MGS4 is not perfect, I can’t honestly say I’ve ever been more emotionally connected to a video game before. While GTA4 was highly overrated and didn’t deserve the 10’s it did get, MGS4 is an experience that lives up to its... Read more
More than 20 years after the story started, Solid Snake's story comes to an end. I wish I could say more about this game without spoiling it, but it is very hard. I will say that there is finally a reason to own a PS3 aside from just running Folding@Home all the time, or playing Resistance. Even if you only liked the original Metal Gear Solid, pick this title up. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. This game, much like Grand Theft Auto 4, packs so much onto one disc... Read more
I love this game. I don't have any hands, so I was worried the game may be difficult, similar to every other game I've ever played without hands. Boy was I wrong! This game is 90-100% cut-scenes (which are in-game movies that serve, in this case, to further complicate the story). You don't need hands at all to watch cut-scenes, unless you want to skip it, but that will just shorten the wait til the inevitable bad parts of this game (see below). The story is good. It's... I used to think that there were only three truly amazing games-BioShock,Call of Duty 4, and Half-Life 2-but any doubts about Koijima not being an amazing person was immediatly shot down the moment i popped this game in. the PS3 had few decent games before this -Uncharted, Resistance- but this game single-handedly brings the PS3 back from suckyness. Buy this game. Read more
This game is the best in the series by far. This game is the newest addition to the Metal Gear series. It is probably the best game you can buy for the Play Station 3. It has a long story line that will keep you playing for hours. The story line is this game is very thought out. And it connects all the other games together. The games graphics are amazing and there is not one part where they do look bad. This game is packed with missions, guns, Easter eggs and more. The... Read more
