LittleBigPlanet

LBP was announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe that it was to be released in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand no later than the week commencing Monday 3rd November while it was released in North America and Japan at the end of October. It comes from the creators of Rag Doll Kung-Fu under the development of Media Molecule that consists of 40 members. The platform of the LBP is made in the same manner as Mario or Sonic. It has been said by its promoters that LittleBigPlanet favors a physics based system that drives everything in the game. The feature that is said to be special in this game is that LittleBigPlanet enables players to create their own semi-2D levels. Another feature is that this game enables players to make “stickers” out of images captured with a PlayStation Eye. The story mode has eight themed areas. Each area comprising of three to four main levels and each level contains collectable keys to unlock bonus mini-levels. On the whole, there are more than 50 pre-built levels in the main story mode.

Features

The game’s avatars, the Sackboys or Sackgirls or Sack person, can be controlled by players in many platforming scenarios. Each of these characters can run and jump, hang onto and drag/push objects. This game features pre-built levels including altering the player’s character and personal space, building new objects and levels, and also sharing and playing them online as part of the LittleBigPlanet community. Players have the abilities of playing and exploring the environments with platforming environments such as jumping, pushing, grabbing and running. Players can also create their own content by placing stickers into levels and by using the level editor to create, destroy, edit and manipulate levels in the game. The themes based in this game are inspired by real-world locations notably Japanese gardens, dry deserts, New York City streets and icy Russian stages. The title’s catch phrase consists of three modes which are Play, Create and Share. These three modes can be accessed from the personal space inside the players’ pod and can be used to decorate the room with stickers and decorations. For starters, only the Play mode is available and later on, the rest of the game can be played as soon as tutorials are undertaken by players.
