The storyline centres around the main character, Cole MacGrath, who attains super powers after escaping an explosion he unknowingly delivered in a packaged. The game has an ESRB rating of T (Teen) / BBFC: 12 / OFLC: M / PEGI: 16+. The game features an interactive city detail that allows players to climb the buildings. The game also uses a lighting model called "deferred shading" which provide a tactile environment that cast lights in the scene as moving, flickering, or changing colours. The soundtrack is composed by the electronic musician Amon Tobin, composers James Dooley and Mel Wesson, and electric cellist Martin Tillman.
In inFAMOUS players assume the role of the protagonist Cole MacGrath and features up to 70 electrical-based powers that a player can attain right to the end of the game, such as the ability to shoot electricity from his hands to nearby targets or create an electricity-based shield to repel foes. These electrical powers can be used both in the game against living targets as well as inanimate objects. inFamous allows players to adapt to Cole’s evolving powers through out the game play and features gameplay that require players to discover, grow and use a wide range of electricity-based super powers (good or bad); as well as grasp the responsibility that comes with it. The game also features battles where actions taken by player will decide the course of the game. The deeds executed by the player are tracked through a karma system that will influence the type of growth of Cole’s powers and affect how the citizens react to Cole. Other features on inFAMOUS are an Open Dynamic World with a reactive environment and population that allows users to explore an open interactive city. The game allows players to choose between saving or destroying Empire City; the game also features urban exploration that allows players to scale the cityscape for vantage points and employ a vertical combat system. It challenges player to utilize Cole’s climbing skills and open up a variety of offensive and defensive combat options; as well as an organic city ecology where citizens and city react and evolve depending on players’ actions. The events in this game will unfold based on the role players take in them.
See lessThough it may not seem it, superhero adventure inFamous isn’t such a huge leap from its Sly Cooper cutesy platformer predecessors as it first appears. Like fellow Stateside Sony developers Naughty Dog and Insomniac, Sucker Punch have eschewed the cartoony nature of their PS2 work to focus on a more mature premise with a dark comic book inspired superhero tale, replete with betrayals, vengeance and redemption. Realistically someone could have labeled inFamous the mutant offspring to Assassins Creed and Crackdown. It blends some of the best aspects of both of these games while also inheriting some of their worst flaws. There isn't too much here that we haven't seen before but the experience itself is worth exploring. It's when the whole picture starts to come together that some of the seams begin to show. But if you persevere then you will be rewarded by a great story with rich... Read more
InFamous caters to the gamer in everyone. The casual fan can pick it up and easily put it down after doing a handful of missions. Hardcore folks will go nuts over the game's ample amount of content, such as where to spend those hard earned experience points and gathering all of Cole's upgrades. Sucker Punch has crafted a fantastic gaming experience that is really hard not to recommend. PlayStation 3 owners should not hesitate to pick up inFamous off their local... Read more
Moderately fun spiritual successor to the Sly Cooper series, if Sly were a human, and his cane were electrical powers, and Carmelita Fox was an even more annoying nurse, and Murray was an equally annoying fat guy, and Bentley didn't exist. Read more
"InFamous" is simply fun. It sucks you in. You forgive the rare glitches because up until the point they happen you are genuinely happy to be playing. Content to be lead through the outlandish story the game takes you on (twice). The start of a new superhero with enough scope to be an interesting character, set against the backdrop of a world which is fun to exist in. Read more
A nice little game with plenty to look for and do but as with most games, the story line is crap. Controls are ok, and his climbing abilities make for extra fun. All in all, I found it a bit too easy, but interesting nevertheless. Read more

This game really shot for the stars... and mised. By just a bit. The cameplay was amazing and the graphics were to die for. And hey who doesn't like the awesome electric powers. It did have a few flaws though. First and biggest of all is the story. It was shown in tiny spurts with unimpressive comic cut scenes. Truthfully, not enough of the story was told. There was no pregame charecter development, no real backstory, and not really enough personality in the characters.... Read more
