List All 5 PricesGet fuelled up and prepare to race and explore the world’s largest ever racing environment – over 5,000 square miles of spectacular wilderness. Set to revolutionise multi-terrain, multi-vehicle racing, FUEL is a fiercely competitive game without boundaries. On and off-road, two and four-wheeled vehicles race a massively diverse environment, from scaling the highest snow-capped mountain to racing the deepest arid canyon. In a fictional present, vast swathes of the Unit…
by Amanda L. Kondolojy Fuel is the new racer published by Codemasters, the same name behind racing powerhouses like Colin McRae: Dirt as well as Race Driver: GRID. With such great titles behind them, it is easy to assume that Fuel would have been yet another title that will live up to Codemasters' high expectations, particularly in the racing genre. But, while Fuel is certainly competent as a racer, and is indeed a great deal of fun, I can't say that it really excels as... Read more
There’s no doubting you get value for your money with FUEL – there’s more than enough to feast on here. However, it’s a mixed bag of quality, and if we had to make the choice we’d plump for short sharp bursts of brilliance in MotorStorm: PR or Colin McRae’s DiRT over the lengthy forays of FUEL. FUEL had it all on paper. A huge playing world, extra obstacles thanks to the weather effects and the fast, exciting races. What we finally got was an offroad racer with a huge but pretty empty world with dull races and beautiful weather effects. The multiplayer is a bit simple, the AI is dumb and audiovisually the game falls short. If you're a big fan of offroad racers and haven't had enough of Motorstorm, Pure and other similar games then FUEL might be able to catch... Read more
On paper, Fuel’s open-world concept is nothing to sniff at: 5,560 square miles of free roaming open world terrain, an extreme weather cycle, 70 different vehicles, diverse environments. On paper, Fuel looks like the sort of game that you could lose yourself in for hours, a deeply immersive, complex racer with enough toys in its sandbox to ensure a unique gameplay experience every time. It’s a pity, then, that Fuel ultimately collapses under its own weighty tome, its... Read more
Fuel definitely separates itself from the competition with its expansive open area. However, despite its technical achievements, it fails to nail the basic necessities that most of its competitors games give. While other off-road games like DIRT 2 and Motorstorm: Artic Edge coming soon, Fuel doesn’t have enough to offer to bring itself to the same level as them. Perhaps this may serve as a foundation for a better game down the road, but as it stands, it’s not enough... Read more

These are not FUEL screens! Fuel has the most beautiful (and biggest) enviroment I’ve ever seen! Read more
I love racing games, and the thought of making a TRUE sandbox-style racer was music to my ears. Burnout Paradise has probably been the best attempt so far, yet given that Fuel boasts reportedly the largest surface area of any video game in history, I had to give it a go. What's first noticeable is how impressive the visuals are. Although not a particularly strong competitor to the impending Gran Turismo 5, it looks good, particularly the lighting effects, and the...
