That’s right boys and girls, it’s that time again, time to step into the ring and prove that YOU are the “greatest of all time” in Fight Night Round 4. Concept: Add boxing intricacies to make the franchise more of a boxing game and less of a fighting game Graphics: The bloody spray and meaty, pounding body punches make this title gruesome without gore Sound: Teddy Atlus provides the best color commentary I've ever heard in a sports game. I was still hearing new bits many fights in Playability: Having shortcuts for most body punches is a godsend. Now if only there was a way to do that for the body jabs Entertainment:... Read more
If you're into boxing you're going to love Fight Night Round 4. The physics-based fighting is simply brilliant, the career mode will last you an age and the online functionality is solid. If you're not into boxing Round 4 is simple to learn, so you could still become the next Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali with a little practice. It's not perfect, mainly down to a slightly soulless career mode, but it's still a significant step up over Round 3 and more or less an essential... Read more
F riday Night Fight Round 3 was the best Boxing game ever released on any videogame console. The graphics were unbelievable, the gameplay was engaging and the presentation was just perfect. Rarely do people go out and buy a new console just for a sports game, but that is exactly what that game did a few years ago. The title was one of the few sports games to go platinum as well. So if anything, pressure on the next game in the series is huge. EA Sports however avoided... Read more
Fight Night Round 4 has evolved positively compared to its predecessor. The controls feel very intuitive, the game seems less scripted, the AI made big improvements and the gameplay is very much ok. I doubt the game will appeal to more people than UFC 2009 Undisputed but this is of course also due to the small market of boxing fans. However, if you're looking for a pure boxing title where realism and depth are central then this is your game. Read more
good boxing game but I prefered round 3 to this, the punches were meatier, accurate to boxing more of a sim than the others, one player is poor but multiplayer is great. Read more
"The most anticipated sports game of the year," and safe to say, lived up to that title. The improved overall gameplay is light-years ahead the previous installment. I also was impressed with the newly polished physics fight system. In FNR4, there seemed to be a boundary or wall that was holding you back from getting in close and utilizing the body shots, and am glad to say, that has been corrected. Another improvement: strategy. The reach, height, weight, speed, and... Read more
Fight Night Round 4 is a outstanding boxing game that contains many great features. The graphics are amazing and they bring back memories of previous ring legends! You can see every bit of emotion on their face from when you are a punch away from a knockdown or when you deliver a killer blow for the KO. The sound affects pop and the commentary is always nice to listen to. The totally new punch control is easy and fast to use and the block and dodge controls make you as... Read more
Well I guess I should start out by saying that I thought Fight Night Round 3 was a 5 star game. It was realistic, slower than most fighting games, and was very strategic. The only problem I had with it was it's roster (no Marciano)! So when I heard Fight Night Round 4 included Mike Tyson, George Foreman, and plenty of others I ran to the store to reserve it. Unfortunately they turned a great boxing simulation into a fast paced arcade game, including super moves (which... Read more
