The PlayStation Network has finally met the challenge presented by its competition. Until now, Sony has struggled to find a silver bullet hit to legitimate their online marketplace. This is where CAC's most notable fault lies, as it's at once too simple and too complex. The initial batch of four courses demonstrates this pretty well. Two maps are solid: City and Trainyard. They're just the right size with just the right amount of obstacles, and the challenge of scoring higher points makes good gaming sense. It’s an arcade title and in the context of other arcade titles, Calling All Cars is a certified winner. The game can be played in short spurts or you may find that hours have drifted past as you focus in on the action. The game is party solid and even suited for families. As David Jaffe’s brainchild, you can expect the following from Calling All Cars! : fast cars, crazy weapons, and a variety of locales to drive at. With the advent of QORE, Sony Computer Entertainment of America’s monthly interactive magazine for the PSN, Calling All Cars! is being included in the annual subscription. Map limitations aside, Calling All Cars delivers some truly great multi-player. With four levels, a handful of car equip-able weaponry, and ten vehicles to pursue your bounty you are guaranteed many hours of fun.
