Review Summary
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is an intense and addictive shooting game. The game opens in a training camp where you will be taught the basic control features, shooting at targets. And afterwards to be trained on navigating and following orders. Then you will be on your first mission on a huge tanker. Call of Duty 4 is about a chaotic war which occurs in various parts of Russia and the Middle East. The action is very intense, enemies armed with artificial intelligence and a good eye. However how many enemies you destroy, new ones will pop up. This can be frustrating and will keep the tension going. In Arcade Mode you will earn points and multipliers. Every type of killing will earn you a set amount of points, so multiple kills will bring in more, as will a knife kill. The more enemies you eliminate, the larger your multiplier is. Every stage has a time limit. The special effects make Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare look like a Hollywood action movie, the scenery and fireworks are amazing. The game never bores you; you will be more and more engrossed. On the other hand the graphics aren’t that good, they look uneven. The sound is good, though. The game is loud with gun fire, explosions, yelling, and the soundtrack. All combined to give a high level of excitement.

As Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's single player campaign unfolds, the player is introduced to new gameplay at every turn – one moment you are fast-roping from your Black Hawk helicopter after storming into the war zone with an armada of choppers, the next you are a sniper, under concealment, in a Ghillie suit miles behind enemy lines, the next you are engaging hostiles from an AC-130 gunship thousands of feet above the battlefield. Mixed with explosive action, Call ... Read more

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Reviewer: gaming-age.com26 November 2007Unless you absolutely have to have control over your teammates in the single player campaign, Call of Duty 4 really does have it all. It's epic, very difficult at higher levels and offers stunning visuals. Online, the ranking system is just as, if not more addictive than Halo 3's, and custom classes and abilities add another layer to each match. This one will be busy online for a long time. Read more

War, they say, is hell. Never has that been more true in the videogame world - the endless, numbing tedium of jingoistic, meaningless violence in a hundred mediocre WWII first person shooters leaving gamers shell-shocked and desperate to escape. Thankfully the excellent Call of Duty games have been there on the front lines to keep up morale, and developer Infinity Ward - returning to the series after Treyarch produced number 3 - has sensibly lept from the rough, dirty... Absolutely stunning visually. Controls are in a familiar format. Not a bad story line either, if only it were a little longer. I completed this in the first weekend & had it not been for the addictive online play I would have traded it in. It?s definitely one for renting if you aren?t big on online play. Would?ve given it a 5 had it not been so short. Read more
