List All 1 PricesBrutal Legend is a game that an awful lot of people are going to enjoy, despite its combat failings. It just prevents a great game from being one of the greatest. Read more
Between 1974 and 1977, Stephen King released three novels, each more popular than the last. Carrie at 272 pages; Salem's Lot at 480; and The Shining at 528. I include the page numbers, because they're telling of King's fame. With each book, he gained the respect of editors. They trusted his ideas because those ideas made them money, and so fewer people said no. Ideas equal money. No to ideas equals no money. Transitive property. Read more
Brutal Legend manages to display the Heavy Metal world in game form and even may bring people not familiar with the music genre to appreciate it. The world is filled with fantasy, even unique and contains a ton of artefacts linked to Heavy Metal. The hack&slash and free-roaming parts are very well worked out and fun to play, but personally I couldn't really get to like the RTS Battle Stages. Read more
Click to read my brutal review. Anyone who has played the gems known as Psychonauts and Grim Fandango should know Tim Schafer’s name. He is respected by many for making some of their favorite games. Brutal Legend is Schafer's latest endeavor, and with the hype and marketing, it looks like finally Tim Schafer and his company Double Fine Productions might have the commercial success that many think they deserve. Brutal Legend is the culmination of a lifelong obsession with metal, making entertaining games, and creating epic tales. Creator Tim Schafer has dreamed about this day for too long. Now that it’s arrived, we’re both praising the lords of rock and putting our controllers down early. Read more
Brütal Legend is a 3rd person action/adventure starring Jack Black in the role of roadie Eddie Riggs, who sets on an epic quest to build an army of rockers with only a broad axe, a big block V8 and his faithful guitar in hand. Read more
Rock the underworld like never before. There are very, very few games which truly make me sit back and go “wow”. Among the slew of games that I’ve reviewed this year, there are only a couple that I really enjoyed playing, and continue to do so. Brutal Legend is one such game – even though I aced my Public Speaking and English Literature classes, words only slur together when I try to describe this game. Read more
Welcome to the Age of Metal! From the creative insanity of Tim Schafer comes Brutal Legend , a heavy-metal adventure that came to rock your socks and blow your mind. Fans have been waiting too long for their taste of heavy-metal glory, but will Brutal Legend find the crossover success like Rock gods Metallica or will it have to resort to playing dingy nightclubs and bars? If ever there was a demo of a game that wasn’t a true representation of the finished product, Brutal Legend was it. The demo did show off that the game had its action, though what it didn’t showcase was that it was set in an open world and also had RTS elements. Being a hopeful sales attraction, shouldn’t a demo be a better example of what the actual game is all about? Read more

Synonymous in the nineties with PC graphic adventures Grim Fandango and the Monkey Island series, designer Tim Schafer’s finest hour came in 2005 with cult-classic platformer Psychonauts , created by his own development house, Double Fine. Though the game’s commercial impact was only modest, it was well-received by critics and adored by fans, ensuring Schafer’s penchant for quirky quality was beginning to bear fruit. Read more
Fantastic, unique action/RTS experience hampered only by its short length. Read more
You play roadie (voiced by Jack black) who is transported to some demonic world and have to hack and slash your way through the game. However you also get a guitar which makes lightning and can kill your enemies (it heats up though, so use it wisely). The cut scenes are very amusing and the games contains some strong language too (although you do have the option to have it bleeped out). Graphics are pretty good in a cartoony way. Read more
A top quality slice of metal based strategy interspersed with GTA free roaming - not a sentence i ever thought i would be stringing together. The phenomenal soundtrack is almost worth the price of entry alone and jack black is on fine form as roadie Eddie Riggs. Sadly, its far too short and light on challenges and, unless you are a trophy fanatic, once the main event is over there is very little to return for. Read more
