Visuals: Bioshock is a dark game over all, mainly to create atmosphere for the player. However, it does have the player set the brightness at the beginning of the game to make sure that the player can see the right amount of details. The brightness can also be adjusted through out the game. Read more

I HAD PREVIOUSLY PLAYED DEADSPACE AND THOUGHT THAT WAS AN INCREDIBLE GAME, (WHICH IT STILL IS). HOWEVER, THIS BLOWS IT OUT OF THE WATER FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS. THERE IS MUCH MORE IN THIS GAME THAN DEADSPACE. MORE WEAPONS, MORE AREA TO SEARCH, MORE OF EVERYTHING. IF YOU ARE INTO FPS THAN THIS GAME IS FOR YOU. ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE INTERESTING AND THE VOICE OVERS ARE SO BELIEVABLE. THIS IS A GAME THAT WILL EMERSE YOU INTO THE STORY LIKE NO OTHER. Read more

A game that receives as much hype as this one did can never live up to it can it? Bioshock really blew us out of the water (bad pun) when it hit the scene way back in 2004, highly involved twisty turny storyline, great action and some seriously stunning, stunning, stunning visuals, there's just not enough art deco in computer games, that is to say there's not enough good art deco themes, and for fans of the style like myself, we can really fill our boots here. This first-person shooter game combines the elements of role-playing and survival horror games. It is set in an alternate history 1960 where players take on the role of Jack, a plane crash survivor who finds himself in an underwater city called Rapture. This dystopian city is populated by mechanical drones and mutated beings. Players must adapt to this new environment and survive the attacks of those who populate the city.

Players of Bioshock are equipped with three different types of resources. These include Adam, Eve, and money. Adam can be acquired in many ways throughout the game. They are categorized into four groups namely the Combat, Engineering, Active, and Physical technology trees. These can be used to purchase plasmids, an extra-chromosomal DNA molecule that provide is users with special powers including telekinesis or the ability to electrocute, incinerate or freeze foes. Quantities of Adam can also be used to purchase Eve and other genetic mutations. Eve are used to fuel active plasmids and money is used to purchase ammunition and other items. Money can also be used to override in-game security elements.

The Playstation 3 version of Bioshock contains content not included in the Windows and Xbox 360 versions. This includes an additional difficulty mode called “Survivor.”
