Summary: The game it self is pretty neat too look at looks very 3-d and i really appreciated the original thought put into it. But the game it self totally had no substance. the story was boring the aiming is way too damn hard to be a simple game. I loved the way it looked but other than looks the game supplies nothing. I wouldnt of gave it any stars Had the graphics not looked so cool! Side note to designers Make a game where the bodies dont disipear after you kill sombody!!!
Excerpt: An FPS based on the Belgian comic of the same name. [+] The game's comic style given by the cel-shaded graphics. Inset boxes showing what is going on in the surroundings, and being able to 'see' as well as hear sound effects. [+] Yet there are realistic touches, such as the way the image is distorted when underwater and temporary loss of hearing from deafening sounds.
Pros: Comic style graphics, challenging, decent game duration
Cons: Incomplete story, load times on lengthy side, an average FPS at heart
Excerpt: XIII - nope, I had no idea how to pronounce it either. Thirteen? Ex - I-I-I? Ten 3? Well it turns out it is thirteen, as it's based on a French/Belgian comic book of the same name. It is a first person shooter where you playa character named thirteen, who is not sure of his own identity, as the game begins whowing the character washed up on a beach with a gunshot wound, not sure of who he is or where he is.
Pros: Good in places
Cons: Lacks originality, could've been so much better

Pros: Great Storyline, adds a different style to FPS with its cell - shaded comic look
Cons: Pretty short game, nothing to unlock and not everyone will like the comic look .
Excerpt: First Person Shooters (FPS) are a very popular genre. With the likes of Medal of Honour becoming very well known and Halo just around the corner things were never looking so good! But FPS's tend to be very similar in the style and story (Mainly World War II). For those of you not aware of what an FPS is, it is a game played from the eyes of the character that uses guns and other weapons. So this means that you can only see the gun in the characters hand.
Excerpt: Story: The story revolves around a mysterious character who goes by the name of 13. He wakes up on a beach, with complete memory loss, and the only two possessions he has is a tatoo 'XIII' and a key to a vault. XIII is accused of murdering the president, and is being hunted. As the game progress, you find out about your past, and hopefully, who you are.
Pros: Great graphical style, and a good range of weapons
Excerpt: Groundbreaking Gameplay Experience innovative gameplay based on comic-style effects (e.g. sound of footsteps graphically represented by the words "tap, tap, tap" on the screen to allow you to detect enemies around the corner) as well as a wide variety of more classic gameplay (e.g. cunning use of human shields, silent weapons, handy gadgets, etc.).To survive, you'll master techniques ranging from covert infiltration to heavy combat as you battle sinister conspiratorial .
Excerpt: I have played this game on all formats and it definitely works best in the PS2 environment, the controls seem more receptive on the PS2, but can still be a bit fiddly. The game has quite a few good ideas ( Grappling hooks, using everyday items to knock out people, Seeing sound) although the first 2 seem completely stolen from other games, the third is a brand new concept taken straight from the games comic heritage, Seeing enemies footsteps as well as hearing them lets...
Excerpt: The first thing i think anyone notices about this game is the shaded 3d graphics, well when i first heard that the graphics were going to be comic book style, it put me off. But now that ive actually seen the graphics for myself as well as played the game, i have to say the graphics are truely beautiful, and thats just saying it mildly.
Excerpt: This game is in the format of a comic book. It resembles a cross between the Film Bourn Identity and the old Batman Series! I bought this game for £30 which wasn't too bad and was pretty average. It is a game that can be played over and over again and has a wide range of level styles. This is an aventure game where you have lost your memory (amnesia) and throughout the game you get flashbacks which give you more clues to your mission.
