Finally, they have made a video game out of this.

  • Summary: The Great Escape is one of my favorite war movies. So, when I heard they were going to make a video game I was very excited. When I got the game for Christmas, 2003, I enjoyed playing it. The controls are very easy to learn. There are four characters in the game that you will be able to play as. They are Hilts, Hendly, McDonald, and Sedgewick. And of course the game enemies are Nazis. This is the plot, it is just like the movie but more in depth.

Amazing Game!

Devesh Singh, Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this game before seeing the movie. I've heard good things about both. When I began playing - I couldn't stop! Each level offers something different - many unique escapes. The thing I liked most about this game is the stealth aspect and attempting to avoid being spotted. Sometimes you'll hear a guard mumble like he heard 'something' hence giving you an opportunity to move out of sight or try and find a better place to hide - it wasn't frustrating at all but still...

Great Esape - Great Game

bone thug! "gaming/wrestling fan", Amazon
14 January 2004
  • Summary: Excellent Stealth-Action game. Good Graphics. Gameplay is actually quite similar to Splinter Cell. Same type of sneaking around. They're very similar games, but completely different story and setting. Kinda like how Bond and Medal of Honor have the same type of gameplay but different story and setting. For instance, in Splinter Cell you use an optic cable to peek under doors; in The Great Escape you peek through keyholes.

Great World War 2 game

Gregory Feather, Amazon
31 August 2003
  • Summary: I have to tell you, the great escape is pur and simple fun. Having purchased this game and played it many times and if you loved the movie you will truly enjoy the game. Being interrested in World War 2 history just goes to show how hard it must have been to escape from the prison camps. If you are wondering if you should buy it, i recommend it. The graphics are beautiful and the sound is great. 5 stars for THE GREAT ESCAPE.

This game is easily as good as Medal of Honor Frontline

Tim Cargill, Amazon
24 August 2003
  • Summary: I just rented this game, and have to say that it is simply awesome. Every bit as good as Medal of Honor Possibly even better. Each character has a diffrent skill. The stealth requirement makes it much harder than The Medal of Honor Series. The Graphics are great. And this game is a challenge even on the easy setting. I strongly recommend this game to anybody that enjoyed Medal of Honor, Syphon Filter, and Medal Gear. Yes in my humble opinion it is that good.

A Very Solid Game Indeed

Devesh Singh, Amazon
14 August 2003
  • Summary: I rented this game a few days ago and am so far very pleased with the gameplay. To sum it all up, the game is just plain fun. It's not a mindless shooter game where you kill with out a cause, but instead a fun, stealthy, and sneaky game where you are required to use your brain, and stealth pays. I'm not sure why this game is not selling that well, but it is definitely a very solid game indeed.

Cinema history rewritten!

A. W. Carter "Hollywoodaholic", Amazon
7 August 2003
  • Summary: Admit it; if you've seen the classic movie, you were always kind of hoping Steve Mcqueen would really escape. Well here's your opportunity. I was 10 years old when the movie came out in 1965 and playing this game made me feel 10 years old again. Which really worked out perfect since I was taking turns alongside my army-game-loving six year-old (except for the times I wanted to grab the controls away and say, "Hey, it's MY turn again).
