Excerpt: Metal Gear Solid has a lot to answer for. Every publisher seemingly has a stealth title on its release list, or has a game with a bizarrely placed stealth section on the shelves already. Codemasters did it with the decidedly average Prisoner of War , and now SCi are taking the plunge with a licensed stealth-’em-up based on the Steve McQueen classic The Great Escape . To be brutal, The Great Escape is a classic example of videogame licensing. You know the score.
Excerpt: There is a mother load of role-playing games available for the Playstation 2. But a few in particular have stood out from the crowd as leaders: Final Fantasy X, Suikoden III, Dark Cloud are all examples. Xenosaga was expected to join this group. It shouldn’t. Not by a long shot. While there is a good deal to like about this game, its flaws are clear and severely damaging. First, you must shed your misconceptions about this title.
